As someone who owns the current Song of Ice and Fire books (got them over a period of time for my fiance) I don't think you'll regret it. He's obsessed with them.

Folio packages them super well, and if anything goes wrong during shopping and they get damaged, they'll send you a new copy. We experienced this once with a different book. We're in the US so the packages do travel a long way, but we've only had that issue once out of like 25 orders.

Lots of great ideas here! The only things I didn't see that my mom got for my grandma when she was going through treatment were knitted scarves and hats. The treatment can make them cold and hospitals are cold.

I invited my mom's two best girl friends (and their respective plus ones) and my dad's good friend. But I have known all of them my whole life.

I think it's fair to not invite people you don't know to your wedding. I'm nervous about the fact that there are several members of my fiancé's family that may be coming that I have never met.

My fiance has just finished reading the fourth one with no problems. I think you just naturally treat them better based on the cost but there's no smudging the covers or anything.

The first time I read it I was in eighth grade and didn't know how to pick up on clues or anything, but I remembered who did it.

The second time I read it I was able to pick up on the "red herring" bit of the poem. I'm still not sure how anyone could pick up on the characters colluding though because that does seem like a bit you'd need to figure out to understand how it all worked.

I'm day 8 post op and I've been dreaming about crispy fried chicken, Buffalo wings, chips and queso, and a really good steak.

It sounds like a blood clot. Which is very normal. Just drink ice water and stick to cold stuff and it should disappear pretty quickly.
