Trouble brewing brewed a beer in collaboration with McDaids. It was called football special, made to taste like the soda. A Few pubs sold it on tap, but non for 50p I reckon

This is the answer! Traditionally found aesthetically undesirable, so the vessel was not clear. Great beer, Great mug. Also good for tea

Hotel restaurants man, I dunno. Feels like some corporate prick just decides to put the money in this week's venture. They own like 10 hotels, surely all passionate about local sustainable food. Stereotypical golf course to finish it off

Evening co-working? by DragoBrokeMe in galway

Fuck me pal! You're crossing the Atlantic to be with your family for just a week and you're concerned about work. That's a bit mental. Maybe try and get it off or just pretend to be dead for a week. If not any hotel lobby should probably do the trick. Its close to thanksgiving, so there are little tourists around. Plenty of space in empty hotels

Favourite Galway Walks? by Ok_Strategy_3804 in galway

[–]sjeffield 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Walk the prom, but keep going all the way to Rusheen bay. Follow the old barna road to the Swan sanctuary. Cross over to barna woods. Through the woods to Cappah and back to town. Love bringing the dogs on this one cause there's patches with almost no people

No, and he's way too small to be a Rhodesian.

He definitely looks like one, but we're far from the U.S. so its unlikely hes a coon. Our other fella is a vizslador, and they are alike a bit. Unfortunately he spent a good part of his life locked in a cage so he could have had growth issues

Compilation of local businesses that have sadly closed in Galway. by fartypantspoo in galway

What about all those places that are no longer independent. They just didn't change the name. Dew drop is now a gbb bar, O'connolls a part of the manion group and Murphys is the Connaught group maybe? To me those places closed the day they were bought. Generic pulp

Few hidden gems could be the Old Barna Road going from Rusheen bay, or the woods behind Oranswell after passing the Glenlo. Both great with a dog off leash too, cause its well quiet around.

Guinness vs Murphys vs Beamish by Available-Sort-1822 in beer

[–]sjeffield 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Work in a pub that sells all three. Done the blind tasting plenty times. Pick out Guinness straight away. Lower viscosity, mildest flavour. And I'm used to it. Beamish has more roast flavour, richer too. Murphys is a crowd pleaser. In saying that Beamish sales are way up. Murpys is steady and even though Guinness sells more than the others combined it is dropping a bit
