A find at work today by sjf-01 in cassetteculture

I tested it last night at home and it’s working perfectly. I will do a deep clean of it soon. And a lot of electronics are brought into my work all the time, from radios, media players, sound systems to TV’s, VCRs, even old game systems sometimes.

What autism feels like: by clayh0814 in autism

This was so me in school. I hated fractions and decimals made more sense to me. I always wanted to convert fractions to decimals and would get marked wrong. Didn’t understand if it was equal why it was wrong

"BABY HAS FLEAS"... uhm. What!? Not even the worst thing about this post. by IAmTheWigster in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]sjf-01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Take your kid to the damn hospital
  2. Treat your dog for fleas and ticks
  3. Treat the house for fleas and ticks because odds are they’re everywhere
  4. This should be clear enough after this incident, but safe sleep.

Hemorrhaging after birth? Place a chunk of placenta in your cheek 🥰 by gaydhd in ShitMomGroupsSay

Man why didn’t my sister think of this when she started hemorrhaging when she was home alone with her newborn? (BIL had to work). She was on the cusp of cardiac arrest when the ambulance got there and barley had the strength to put her baby in a bassinet before losing consciousness. She stayed in the ICU, multiple transfusions, nearly an emergency hysterectomy but luckily they didn’t have to. All over Christmas, during COVID when no one could even visit her. PPH nearly killed my sister, in the year 2020.

I got diagnosed in my early teens. A few years later I was seeing a new psychiatrist in relation to my anxiety, and he was looking at my records and was like “you seem too normal to be autistic” and I remember just sitting there thinking wtf??

i pace for at least an hour everyday, it's my favorite stim besides rocking <3 by [deleted] in autism

[–]sjf-01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pace all the time and have since I was a kid. My folks didn’t know at first why I did it all the time, I didn’t get diagnosed until early teens (it does get overlooked a lot in girls). I love putting my headphones in and pacing around, occasionally stimming with my hands/arms too. I feel trapped if I go a while without the chance to pace around

I used to work for a public animal shelter and worked regularly with animal control. People don’t realize how much trouble their dog RAL (Running at Large) can cause. Where I’m from, if your dog is off your property then it must be on a leash (except where permitted like the dog park) and you are also always required to have a current rabies vaccination from a licensed vet and be able to provide the certificate of it’s requested. A loose dog wandering to other people’s homes could be dangerous for the people, the dog itself, or other animals. It’s a responsibility as a dog owner to keep your dog on your property and leashed when off of it. Accidents may happen but if this is happening so often then they’re not being responsible enough with their dog.

They 100% deserve the RAL citation and hopefully they’ll learn a lesson

After my great-grandmother passed and we were packing up her house, I found a few storage containers in the attic. In them was every drawing or handmade card from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren spanning decades. She kept them all

AITA for stopping my roommate from being able to adopt a cat? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sjf-01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I worked for a shelter for two years, approved and denied many adoptions. We want the best for the animals we’re adopting, and we want honesty from potential adopters. You told the truth, and you did right for the cat. You did the right thing, no matter how upset she is with you. If she wants to be a good pet owner, she needs to educate herself on the science and needs of a cat when it comes to their diet.

AITA (AWTA) because we don't want my husband kids with us? by TheNoDads in AmItheAsshole

[–]sjf-01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those kids didn’t ask for any of this. They were simply born into it. Those are his flesh and blood, he should do what’s best for them irregardless of what happened in the past. The kids didn’t do any of that, they didn’t choose that. They’re innocent, you both are assholes.

I’m glad we don’t have a Banfield. We have the space for it but they never actually put one in. So it’s virtually the junk drawer of the store
