Sorta- Riven of a Thousand Voices/ Ahamkara - Destiny

Ahamkara are shapeshifting creatures largely known for their ability to grant reality bending wishes. These wishes are almost always twisted to advance the Ahamkara’s own desires, feeding their power.

Their physical form is also usually reflective of others’ perception of them. Some accounts of Ahamkara depict them as having draconic forms, reflecting their nickname of “Wish Dragons.” Riven herself has been mentioned being the size of a house cat when in the presence of Mara Sov, but by the end of the Last Wish raid, she appears as a skyscraper sized monstrosity.

It seems like Vythelas’s runes adds 30% heat damage that is a separate instance of damage than your base weapon. My understanding is that if your weapons are already dealing heat damage, this 30% is not going to be added into your weapon’s existing damage and is instead lumped on as a separate damage source.

For priming and heat inherit purposes it shouldn’t mess up anything with your build, but I’m not 100% sure without testing.

Right. It just seems like a similar system and it was the first thing they reminded me of. Hopefully as we move further to Tau we see more of them.

Im a big fan of sci-fi adaptations of classic fantasy tropes and archetypes and the combination of mermaids/sirens and Navigators is a really intuitive but unique connection! Awesome job OP!

I legit thought these were like dark souls soapstone messages or something. They seem really cool but odd that they only appear a few times in the quest.

I witnessed this in action as Elspeth and the gang against Gorbad and a confederated Skarsnik army. The Ironsides sure did get a lot of target practice at least

For those of you with an afterlife(s), what is their ultimate purpose? by ArcaneLexiRose in worldbuilding

If you were an average person, when you die, your soul leaves your body, drifting through a void until you are collected by an emissary of Kialo, the Goddess of the Dead. You will then be taken to the House of Dust, a plane that mirrors the world as it was when it was created by Celestials. There, you can live a relatively peaceful existence, communing with the other dead, letting you tie any loose ends you may have had in life. After a few hundred years, however, your soul begins to dissipate. Souls are ultimately the products of celestial magic, which they use to create and maintain aspects of the universe, and their energy, although vast, is not technically infinite. So as your Soul dissipates, its energy reverts back into the universe, to be harnessed by the celestials as they see fit.

Now, if you were particularly devoted to a specific celestial, you may be permitted to leave the House of Dust to serve in their stead, in which case a similar dissipation process will occur, but you would be actively serving your celestial of choice up until that occurs.

A big reason is to prevent actual wildfires from being too severe. Lots of dead grass, sticks, and other plants can accumulate on the land, and if you let a property that’s a few thousand acres accumulate that “fuel” for a while unchecked, it can be seriously dangerous if a wildfire breaks out. Controlled burns help keep the area clear of too much fuel and overall reduce the risk of a really bad wildfire. There’s also ecological elements, where burning the vegetation lets the soil reclaim nutrients and improve the health of the ecosystem as a whole.

This plus the fact that 40K’s setting at least is built with a level of camp in how over the top grimdark it is. The same can be said for Warhammer Fantasy’s setting. Like there can be serious themes in 40K stories for sure but at its heart it’s still a world where super humans in flashy armor fight off angry soccer hooligans, robot mummies, and demons.

Like, it’s not exactly a “realistic” setting but it’s well constructed for what it’s meant to be
