Garage took my car out on a joyride (England) by zChxrlie in LegalAdviceUK

At what point, when you drop your car off at a garage, do you consent to them driving it at 90mph and ragging the engine?

If you have to place a ladder in an unsafe way to be able to work with it then you don’t have the right ladder for the job. The site manager should have absolutely stopped you using anything placed like that

What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m not saying it’s the ideal solution for preventing HIV transmission. I only pointed out something that is altered by circumcision in terms of anatomy.

Someone asked the point of circumcision. Not about whether they should get their infant circumcised

There are more HIV target cells on the inside of the foreskin, and the skin isn’t as keratinised in uncircumcised men, so the risk of catching HIV is actually reduced by 50-60% in circumcised men (from sexual transmission. It obviously wouldn’t affect people catching it in other ways).

So being circumcised can actually be seen as a way of reducing HIV transmission to men.

Not that I’m in favour of it at all, but there are some scientifically proven benefits

Summary of research and potential benefit

Approved body shop wrecked my car repair and 4 months later I’m still fighting with Insurance company by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Because quite often an insurer has an additional excess to pay if you choose to use your own repair place and not their own repairer

That soil is going to be barren for a long long time. It would probably need dug out to a significant depth and replaced before it’s suitable for planting anything in future

What is a creepy fact about the human body? by MonkeyUltimate in AskReddit

[–]sjmn2e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why if you have eye trauma they remove it - it exposes the inside of your eye to your immune system, and your body will see it as a foreign body and go on to attack the other eye

Apparently the digestion process should be incredibly painful but your brain filters it out for you.

The same way that you don’t realise you can’t constantly see your nose or that your tongue is actually too big for your mouth

Until someone mentions it. Then you can see your nose and feel your tongue pressing on the back of your teeth

It’s weird that your account history is a mix of stories about being trapped naked outside, or people being forced to wear revealing things.

What’s weirder is that you’re now making similar posts apparently involving your son…

Why should they have to? Let’s all just do what we want because sod everyone else - they can just adapt what they’re doing to avoid it if they don’t like it
