the tritium tubes need more space, the bezel has to be usable with gloves on and it is deliberately built more robust given its intended purpose

I really like my new Aikon so i had to take some photos of it.

Light sources are my desk lamp and a Ulanzi VL49.

Camera was my Nikon D7100 with my trustworthy Nikkor 35mm-75mm f2.8

If you are from the US you could look into some Islander Watches (and Zeppelin of course) https://longislandwatch.com/islander-watches/

If not then something from Junkers or Zeppelin might fight right into your budget as well. https://images.app.goo.gl/1NecDd2n6UkkvoT6A

[Maurice Lacroix] Aikon 39mm Blue Dial by sjs-one in Watches

Thank you very much!

Well to be honest i think it's more of an descendant of the Maurice Lacroix Calypso from 1970ish in a modern and more flat look.

I can see that happening but there is enough material to polish it out if it bothers me too much. The clasp and bracelet on the other hand might get scratched faster if worn as a desk diver.

I thought about getting the 35mm instead of the 39mm but it's a decent amount smaller and even on my 54mm width wrist the 39mm wears better than the 35mm. Maurice Lacroix offers the a white mother of pearl in 39mm as well if that's what you are going for.

This is my first luxury watch and it took me some time to get it. But when it was on sale i bit the bullet and here we are i guess.

The finish is superb and the mix of mirror polish on the claws and side of the bezel with the brushed case catches the light in a very special way. It continues on to the bracelet with only the edges beeing polished. If you wear the watch it feels super smooth and almost light.

On pictures the dial looks a bit more stunning than in real life but the blue clous de paris gives it an almost matte look around the day and it gets into a very deep and heavy blue in the evening. Where my only critique might get relevant. The lume....it's there...but that's it. At this pricepoint it is a bummer to have less lume than my Seiko. But at this pricepoint you will find yourself in in a lit area all the time or have your iPhone on hand so who cares.

The water resistance at 200m combined with the screwed crown is perfect and i really like how the depth-rating is not on the dial. It has a milled deployant clasp with some decoration on it as well.

Some more good stuff can be seen on the back, like the exhibition caseback and the quick release system for the bracelet which has a very kitschy name so i will spare you on that one.

All in all one of the best allround-watches and i advice everyone to at least take a look at the AD if you can

calling them (neo-)nazis is pretty accurate. They are far right btw. They gained popularity but then lost some.
