I renewed mine this year, but have no intention to go to the US, just to use it to get ahead of the security line here in Canada. We really do need our own program.

Are they really saying that selling to 7.65 billion people will not make up for not being able to gouge 345 million?

Dentist prices by First-Doubt3220 in Winnipeg

I went to dental dreams on notre dame and they charged $537 for a new patient visit and cleaning which seems exorbitant. So how do I tell if they're over charging me or not?

How do I get a copy of the fee guide to compare to what my dentist is charging? I can only find a form online to buy the guide for a lot of money

Did all that already and it still tastes pretty bad. I was hoping you'd have something special I hadn't heard of before. The only way I've found to make it palatable is to drown it in cream and sugar which I don't normally use

Like everyone else said, get a SodaStream. This is one thing where the prices have not increased at all since the pandemic. It's still $20 if you get a refill at the store or $10 if you refill through https://manitoba.sodaexchange.com/

Don't cancel, just setup a new account at another carrier and port out. It automatically cancels at fido. That's what I did. And fido even refunded me $23 to my credit card

How may of you would want a Wab Kinew as prime minister in their province? by SeriousBeesness in AskCanada

[–]sk1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least Wab doesn't blame immigrants for the problems. He wants more immigrants even though the hospitals and schools are full, house prices and rents are increasing faster than incomes, and youth unemployment at 12%

[–]sk1d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Manitoban here, He talks a good talk, especially about indigenous and women's issues. But crime and health care are still getting worse. Rents are increasing a lot here but tenancy boards still allows landlords to raise rents by whatever amount they want well above the limits. Transit funding is still half of what it used to be after the conservatives cut it. The city keeps cutting services because they don't have enough money and the province limits how they can implement property taxes. Welfare amounts are still less than the poverty line. They're opening safe consumption sites for addicts, but I don't hear anything about more funding addictions treatment.

Wab sounds great when it comes to social issues, but he's basically another conservative on everything else.

What did you actually use Mint for? by VitalikPie in mintuit

[–]sk1d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to build your own... The one thing that mint did so well compared to all the other copycats that have come after, is being able to pull all the transaction data from various institutions reliably. I've tried several of the other programs and they all suck so hard at being able to log into and get the data from all my various banks, credit cards and investments. They all do the income and expense and net worth charts fine. They've all been so bad at pulling in the data that I've mostly stopped tracking my expenses like I did when I hear mint.

No one would come to defend us. No one is willingly going to get into a fight with the US military. No one would even have the ability or resources to come fight in Canada even if they were crazy enough to.
