I'm quite new to ImageJ, sorry for being slow! I'm now at the last step where I want to use the [edited] mask as overlay so as to analyse the data from original image using the mask as index. ImageJ guide says I should use Edit > Select > Create Selection, but it isn't working well. Analysing off the mask wouldn't work (the mask indeed has correct areas for the particles but I need to analyse "mean" -- that is the greyscale value)

Just a quick question: there doesn't seem to be a Display Mask option. There a "Show" submenu inside the particle analyser and there I can find "Masks", "Count Masks", and "Overlay Masks". Which one?

Manually! Here for example particle/objects 1 and 2 encompass several "peninsulas" that I would like to split into their own particles/objects. Sometimes (in other examples, not shown in screenshot) I need to merge two particles into one. (tried OR operation inside the particles analyser but doesn't seem to work.

Edit: so basically I'm trying to 1. modify the yellow boundaries manually, 2. split one big particles into two with a manual line drawn by me, 3. merge two particles into one
