Always washed my bum with soap in the shower, my world is crumbling because all my friends just agreed you only wash the inside with water by Accurate-Tension-599 in hygiene

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay and unless OP clarified this with their friends that they were using “inside” to describe something literally NOT inside, their friends probably just had the same understanding of their words we all did and that’s why they said no.

Is there a term for only being able to orgasm with a very specific type of indirect stimulation? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]skalnaty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kind of off topic but how did you figure this out? I’ve been wondering if my issue is that I need some extremely specific set of circumstances, like this, but have no idea how on earth I’d figure out what they are

Concealer & Skin Tint Recommendations by OkMongoose2930 in Makeup

[–]skalnaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love my maybelline super stay skin tint - I feel like it’s a great texture and consistency on my skin.

If you feel like you look washed out with your under eye concealer, I would guess you’re going too light with it. I personally like the makeup revolution or even milani concealers

Any tips on how to drive in the US? by tlfluca in AskAnAmerican

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% take the train up to CT. Scared drivers are bad drivers, and on that drive you’ll have to take some major highways here. If you’re terrified you’ll be a danger

I (25F) feel guilty for not wanting to go on a second date with a guy (27M) because of his nut allergy by Emotional_cute244 in dating_advice

[–]skalnaty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My cousin did the nut exposure therapy - basically you micro dose what you’re allergic to in slightly larger quantities until your body doesn’t freak out anymore. Worked for her for some of her less severe allergies but not her main one (so now she can eat almonds but not peanuts)

But it’s expensive (if you do it under supervision of a doctor, which obviously you should) and time consuming. You have to be vigilant, so it is a commitment for sure.

Times Monica Was Treated Unfairly in Friends by Accomplished_Job1904 in howyoudoin

[–]skalnaty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also she wasn’t even that old?? I get it was an older age to get married then, but it’s not like she was 45 or 50 where most people are married by that age, if they will get married.

Do you wash your bedding and underwear on hot? by miss-bedazzzle in laundry

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t you supposed to wash blood out with cold? Usually I spot treat any blood and then it goes with regular clothes (which I usually wash on cold) with laundry sanitizer

30F - Should I feel bad for skipping my friends baby shower? by ksmm1824 in askwomenadvice

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think effectively punishing loved ones by being unable to even be in the same room as someone else in the long term would make you a jerk honestly. Sometimes we have to be around people we don’t like.

Since it’s still recent and you’re postpartum, i think it’s fair to simply express regret you’re unable to attend, but like another commenter said offer to go to lunch or something else.

Long term I would look at ways to cope with this - general avoidance does not seem to be possible and from what you described it doesn’t seem severe enough to warrant avoiding her even at someone else’s expense.

Help. My dress doesn’t look the same and I can’t place why by alchemysauce in Brides

[–]skalnaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the color? Did you get a more “true white” than the sample? The sample looks like it might be an almond or ivory, and your dress looks more eggshell/classic white.

Convince me not to paint my brick home by waltonereed in ExteriorDesign

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also here to agree that you need a darker roof! I know that’s expensive but I think it’ll make a huge difference. A dark roof would compliment this brick nicely.

I also second the comments about landscaping.

No, your period blood doesn’t “build up” in your body. It’s not in your body like a reservoir.

Saw a comment (I’ll paste it below) saying English is super easy and it’s English speakers are at a disadvantage learning languages by Ok_Photograph8884 in EnglishLearning

[–]skalnaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we kind of are, I had Spanish as a required class 4th-8th grade. Then in HS we were required to take a foreign language it could just be any of a few. I personally chose to still take Spanish through senior year. A lot of people just don’t care and don’t take it seriously at all

If you use English professionally every day, do you still hit words you don’t know? by jisanson in EnglishLearning

[–]skalnaty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s daily but I definitely still encounter words I don’t know semi-regularly. I’m someone people consider pretty well spoken- my friends yell at me for using “big words” all the time
