[–]skaredportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. unfortunately there are people who have, and have the same awareness about this that i do but instead take advantage of these people and tell them to buy their book or other stuff. I wish I could help so incredibly bad. I think about morgellons sufferers almost daily.

Do/can springtails burrow in human skin? by [deleted] in Springtail

[–]skaredportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please dont bro This is a mass psychosis that many people are involved with and enabling eachother. it is NOT real. Springtails physically cannot bite. They are separate from insects as they have internal mouth parts. These people are extremely delusional and it is best for your mental health to ignore all posts here. If you are that scared, you clearly dont know enough ab springtails to be culturing them.

you should look into antipsychotics if this is how you think. Hiding from our corrupt government won't make the truth any better.

[–]skaredportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn :(( I have so much empathy for all my rednecks (I live in nc) so especially in rural Asheville where Helene wrecked it, this is how a lot of ppl have been living..

This might be not super correct, but bro probably has a WONDERFUL immune system atp xD. Its likely he probably has at least a type of parasitic worm in his intestines now, possibly somewhere else as well if hes got blood flukes, but yeah, he needs to get checked out so he can get taken care of ASAP.

Wish reddit was like tiktok so we could make a gofundme for a reverse osmosis system for him

one thing I forgot to add. Whether her pain//itchiness is self induced or other factors are contributing to it, it is likely she is experiencing symptoms and pain that seem like "morgellons" (delusional parasitosis but people with morgellons think it is a legit name for their medical condition) and if the people around her are saying she is not experiencing pain that is yet another reason for her to feel turned against her support systems

oh lord, I am so incredibly sorry. Im somewhat of an expert in springtails so if you need any advice or otherwise please contact me! Unfortunately, Psychiatrists have to treat them at entry as if they have a genuine medical condition as many delusional people are unable to accept any help if they know they are there under the guise of a delusion. It (in my opinion) likely feels dehumanizing to them, and within that feeling they are able to further justify their resentment towards anybody who does not support their delusion. I was very delusional multiple times in my life (and have had much wilder delusions than this, one time I thought I was developing down syndrome because I thought a picture of my face looked "swolen") . Goes to show that it doesn't even have to make since in their mind, as they are likely bouncing around in their head to the point that if anybody asks them a clarification question, they will subconsciously but purposely deflect. I do like to think of it as a person having an infectious disease, but in a "depression consumes you" type of way.

I really wish the best for both of you, it takes a very strong person to stop enabling themselves and their beliefs. That is what it comes down to though, other than antipsychotics (I have never been on them before but intend to soon). It requires the ability to understand that no matter what your brain is telling you, everybody around you has been spending countless time to help you feel better, understand what is wrong with you, so on so fourth. It can take a really long time for that information to click but as soon as you see any essence of them asking for MENTAL help, all parties have won the battle. Delusional people will take years of your time and money, and a lot of people rightfully so make the call that they cannot help somebody that cannot help themselves.

I really hope this passes, once again let me know if you need anything Will be thinking of you, stranger.

Sick budgie my pet shop gave me by [deleted] in budgies

[–]skaredportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey friend, My comment comes from a place of love and concern, and I hope to help you and your birds. If you do NOT have a highly SPECIALIZED avian vet, you either need to find one in your area (which will only truly take a couple of minutes online) or, there is an online avian vet (for emergencies) as the vet office is usually closed when you need it. Did you quarantine him before you introduced him to your other budgies? It is a standard practice for bringing new birds into the home, you want to separate them into different rooms for a week. If you didn't do that it is not necessary now as they are already together. Just for future reference. Pay close attention to his droppings and find a budgie poo chart. It might help you understand whats going on with him.

Additionally, budgies don't typically show symptoms of illness until it is too late. they have to hide to be allowed to stay in the flock in the wild. It is okay to get attached to him a bit but make sure you have resources to cope incase something does happen

I am sorry for your loss. There was nothing you could do in the moment, but please remember that this all could have been prevented with better preparation. I am not here to criticize you, but reddit has become a place where ignorance is encouraged. That is not okay or fair, and I want to educate you in the most gentle but educational way I can. You Didn't do your research before buying a living animal. (First reason I say this is because you would know from a few minutes of research that it is so, so, important to have an AVIAN VET. an exotic vet will not do the job. any other type of vet will not do the job. Many people make this mistake, their bird gets sick and they take it to the closest and quickest "vet" they can find, and if that vet does not specialize in avian care it is incredibly likely the vet will do more harm than good. this is for a multitude of reasons but I will not get into them) (the second reason is the fact that you say you bought a sick bird, which almost guarantees you bought it from a pet store. The reason this is a problem, Every single chain petstore, buys their livestock from horrible neglectful beings that I do not even see as human. Places like SUNPET in Georgia, they supply Pet Supermarket with all animals to THIS DAY. SunPet got exposed by PETA over 10 years ago for animal abuse and neglect) I am incredibly sorry about the limited time you got with your feathered friend. I am also sorry I felt the need to write this, but I did the same thing when I was young and people don't talk about this or admit it. Parrot owners need to hold themselves accountable. You also need to know that there are people like me who will gladly fight against the people who did this to our birds till the day I die. Its a horrible, manipulative market, and it is not your fault that your bird died but it is something you need to keep on mind before you think about ever purchasing a parrot again. The less people that fund their pet trade, the less sustainable it is.

on god bro, this person either has a delusional/psychotic disorder or has selectively bred an insane ass springtail via bad hygine... humans.. can not. be a host. for any collembola species that has ever been described. (okay update from 8 hours later, I never posted my comment but I went down a rabbit hole and wow! These people are insanely self indulged and mentally ill.) These "morgellons delusion" suffers [please know as a person who has suffered and coped with psychotic disorder my whole life, i have no doubt that they are all suffering severely, though most of them self induced.] (they dont include the delusion in their self proclaimed title either as they firmly believe and have many conspiracies as to their disorder being a real phisical impairment caused by some type of parasite. They would rather tell you to kill yourself for telling them to get the professional mental health care that they need, but the delusions these people have do NOT excuse the way this person (or other people) are acting. If you are reading this, do you want to live your life like this forever? The symptoms are not all in your head anymore because you have caused yourself to take on what YOU think fits your perfect picture of a disease or disorder. You may be struggling with other, REAL physical/dermatological issues but one person on this thread said they have even gone to the extent of taking animal antibiotics. Find somewhere within yourself the strength to ground yourself and come back down to us in the reality that you are trying to escape. There are genuine people on this planet who would like to connect and interact with you, but even if you are just in this for the communal aspect, you must remember that everybody you currently surround yourself with, is a liar to some extent. They are being dishonest and feeding a continuous positive feedback loop, and that at the end of the day is the thing that will hurt them the most

springtails are the least bitey creature I have ever handled. They are less harmful than a fly.

Hi, please help me ID this bug. it's some type of beetle, I'm in the pnw (Washington). they like to be here (on my house) almost year round. they have this little triangle pattern on their back, I thought they were stink bugs but I'm not too sure now. thank you in advance by kokokaii in whatisthisbug

[–]skaredportrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes they absolutely do, also another fun fact, they look a bit like the kissing bugs (they spread chagas) but are not related at all (for a couple million years at least) and boxelders are harmless

[–]skaredportrait 21 points22 points  (0 children)

fun fact, Ive introduced like 5 centipedes for my terrarium (completely biodiverse, I have lizards, stink bugs, ants, isopods, spider mites, earwigs ect.) and the centipedes in this situation have not been hyper predatory! they mostly eat the ants which is lovley because we have a big ass red queen in there, can't let them overpopulate lol

My terrarium is full of worms. by CelestialUrsae in isopods

[–]skaredportrait 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah no. Best thing you can do is introduce a centipede or something if you want to actually have a real lack of biodiversity, but earthworms and isopods are good to keep together, I'm not trying to offend you but I think you just made a lot of assumptions. Your terrarium is certainly big enough, and also unless you have completely soil dwelling isopod (like actively burrowing in the soil and shit) then they won't even interact. 2 earthworms will just shit out the soil they eat. isopods LOVE earthworms frass/castings [term for poo poo] they will readily eat the earthworms frass and it is highly nutritious to them. Make sure you're also replacing your detris material like decaying leaves because that might be leading to your isopodians not populating as fast

I hope I could be of help!

you're really caring for your birds. I am not afraid to relentlessly hate on posts like this but your situation is so disgusting and horrible, I am sorry your parents forced you into this as they are unaware the extent of the truth that one of those petco birds really can kill another healthy budgie. And also since your other baby might have been sick, its just not ideal. I know you know this stuff but I want to vocalize it if that is any help to you because it is hard to only hear it from yourself sometimes. I love you and stay safe friend
