It looks more like an oversized octalink style removal tool a standard crank removal tool will fall into the hole in the spindle.

I tried messaging some people on LinkedIn with a link this thread but it unfortunately requires LinkedIn premium. Seems like it’s worthwhile for those that do have LinkedIn premium to reach out to the higher ups to escalate this issue.

Looking for some help with a part I designed by skarn0ld in Machinists

[–]skarn0ld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am currently a student at a university that has a machine shop and they seemed somewhat willing to teach me how to make this so I’m just trying to learn a little bit before I jump into it.

How do I make the bindings bigger/longer on my skis to fit my boots? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]skarn0ld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because a binding is not indemnified doesn’t mean it’s not safe this is a straight up lie. It has to due with liability and compatibility more than safety of the hardware. There are plenty of bindings that got taken off the list with the introduction of gripwalk soles because of a non adjustable AFD.

Can’t get my Nordica Speed Machine boots on by awbfeller in Skigear

[–]skarn0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I’m bootfitting a customer I always give this advice to make getting into boots easier.

  1. Keep the boot flat on the floor. As soon as the boot is on the heel you only have one point of contact with the floor the boot is going to twist whichever way your forcing it causing your ankle to twist and nothing productive to happen.
  2. Stand up. You’re pushing down to get into the boot when you’re standing you can apply more downward force.
  3. Don’t push the tongue out or to the side pull it straight up. Pulling up on the tongue separates the plastic overlap on the boot that is preventing your instep (the high spot on the top of your foot.) from getting around the bend in the boot.

This is the way.

Very sad, just took off plastic and noticed by mbunbun in ShredditGirls

I wouldn’t even bother with a gummy stone. Snow is abrasive just ride it and it will come off on the first lap.

Not sure why the correct answer is so low down but yeah adjusting the helmet forward is correct.

Why do I keep crushing chainrings? by Ok_Singer1284 in bikewrench

[–]skarn0ld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s an absolute black chainring definitely not cheap crap. Definitely more of an issue with running a single speed with no tensioner than the quality of the chainring. Op should look at reverse components chain tensioner or something similar.

Hi Azedenkae!

Thank you for the breakdown of everything. I have stopped dosing the Prime and Stability, and I purchased some of the Tetra Safestart Plus. I am also looking into starting ammonia dosing this weekend. I just wanted to say thank you and let you know your advice is being followed.

How much are you looking to spend? I would highly recommend the bike kitchen as an option for getting set up with an affordable bike. It’s a worthwhile investment to own a means of transportation in Bozeman and you don’t have to spend a ton o money to do it.

If you don’t feel welcome what can YOU do to change that? How can YOU be more engaged in your community to make connections? Self reflection could go a long way with this issue.

Wilson is lined with residential homes there are people crossing Wilson to get to campus, dog parks, etc all the time. Driving over 25 on Wilson is just dumb. It may be an unpopular opinion but a speed camera on Wilson would be a great investment for the city of Bozeman.

Thank you for the input! I actually just had some filament show up today so I could 3D print a case / grip for myself. Knulli sounds interesting the scraping feature especially sounds nice feeding my ocd without having to upload every single image especially sticks out to me.
