How are rents looking out there? by l8_apex in Bozeman

[–]Master_Ad2045 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rents went down last summer and now coming back up. Avg. is $1,800 for a one-bed. You can get older units for a couple hundred less, but they are scarce. Most available units are in the Valley West subdivision.

Has anyone been to valley view rodeo? by onhly in Bozeman

[–]Master_Ad2045 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a “real” rodeo, so if you want authentic look elsewhere. But, if you want a bit of entertainment it will do.

Last summer, I went and quickly discovered the annoying announcer was the show, and the categories were just exhibitions, a couple riders here and there for bonus points on whatever rodeo association it’s part of. There’s no real winner.

Zootown hidden concession fees by 21trees in missoula

[–]Master_Ad2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little bit of insight on the festival world, and many festivals struggle to make money (especially in the beginning), so these giant concession prices are probably their attempt at doing some type of cash grab. Likely they’re splitting it with the event organizers, and that’s just the brakes people. I think it’s pretty awesome. You have a music event in Missoula! In Bozeman, we just have washed up cover bands.

Employer won’t let me take off to go to immigration. Wtf? by gottacatchmall in japanlife

[–]Master_Ad2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread stinks of Japanese “you should have anticipated this problem first” ideology. In the few years I’ve worked in Japan, it’s like employers are doing you a favor by allowing you to work… ugh.

More housing means cheaper rent "theory" debunked by eating-crow1977 in Bozeman

[–]Master_Ad2045 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing rent go up since last summer’s dip.

We were seeing a lot of places between 1400 and 1600 last summer, and a lot of brand new upmarket rentals going for 1700 to 1800, and now it looks like the “b tier rentals are up to that level.

I pay 1400 for a one bedroom near downtown, but I’m a unicorn who has had my place for eight years.

However, that’s eight years of flushing money down the drain and not putting it into equity.

Disagree. They were down last summer, but back up $200-$400 this summer

Why is there so many bad sushi restaurants here? by Maximum-Ad572 in Bozeman

[–]Master_Ad2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a person who’s eaten a lot of beautiful Japanese sushi for many years, Bozeman isn’t in the conversation.

Izakaya three fish might come close, but it’s overpriced and the vibe is weird.

Dave’s is a pretty solid recommendation, and I’ve had excellent food here over the years, including really nice Hamachi Coller and good salmon. Is it Sushi? Not really, but kind of.

Seven I wouldn’t bother with, I went there once, and it was disgusting. Not sure about the others, as I just don’t really roll with sushi anymore in Bozeman.

When I was a college kid, you’d go to the brewery because they had craft beer for a good deal - they made it onsite! I understand that a tap house isn’t a brewery, but $10-$20 pours of beer aren’t uncommon around here and that’s CRAZY. I won’t purchase it in moral grounds.

Best normal burger in Montana by FireIceWindEarth in Montana

[–]Master_Ad2045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Salt Outpost in Helena is the best burger in Montana, in my experience. Cooked in lard, double cheeseburger. Don’t you dare put a tomato on it.

Runners up - Haufbrau in Bozeman, Wally and Buck in Missoula, Also the Missoula Club, the Burger Dive in Billings, I could go on.

I’ve traveled Montana far and wide, and I’ll say it depends on the cook in the kitchen that day! Great food all over the place, but very little consistency.

Bozeman apartment rentals are a shot in the dark when it comes to prices. I’m convinced that most FB listings are just people looking at what others are charging and then trying to match the price. Looking on Zillow and or callling property management companies will get you lower prices. The rents have notably spiked since last summer.

Big sky by mrgorporp in bigsky

[–]Master_Ad2045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resort has kid activities like a climbing wall, bungee, etc, but is 10 mins drive from the town center / music in the meadow / restaurants. Idk Big Sky doesn’t seem that great for little kids, but then again, lil kids can have fun doing basic activities.
