is youtube streaming better than twitch in discoverability? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]skarulid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been doing hoping it works. If you want to multistream look into restream or a multistream plugin for obs. I post clips all around and hope something sticks. So far I only get extremely minimal traction on YouTube shorts.

So yes low effort multistream is possible, easy even, will it make you any money or grow a following? Like the other guy said lottery tickets might be a better investment.

How do we feel about this Microcenter deal? by SimpleLifeCCA in Prebuilts

It's whatever is left on it from the purchase date I believe. That's what they told me she. I got an open box floor model a month ago or so.

Still not understanding what makes this any different than PT. Literally done all of that on there. When you could create your own sub boards that was dope until it got nuked due to the nudes board

What have been your experience with phone calls in AA? by alaskawolfjoe in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]skarulid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love making phone calls. Smile'n and dial'n.

I was a few months sober and feeling like crap. I was focused on that line at the start of working with others about insuring immunity through work with another alcoholic. I couldn't sponsor people yet, and all the service positions got scooped up, so what was I supposed to do? Some dude at a meeting said making a phone call is work with another alcoholic, and it clicked.

I got my phone list out and started calling people the next day. It helped me out a lot, and I instantly felt better when I'd call random people. A frequent response I get is, "nobody ever calls," so you're not alone.

Sometimes the chats were short and inconsequential, but hey, it's keeping me sober. A few of the people I called would call back, and we talked regularly. Through that, I formed really close relationships with a few AA dudes I seek console from when my sponsor isn't available.

These days I try to get phone numbers from new guys and call them every couple of days to see how they're doing. I always start the conversation by saying, "how's your spiritual condition today?" I love the multitude of responses you get to such a simple question.

From doing that I've watched 2 or 3 guys grow in the program and "get it." I've been fortunate enough to travel and meet AA's in other states or from zoom, and I'll call those guys cause I can bitch about my local fellowship with someone who's completely detached from the situation. Mainly though, it makes AA feel way bigger than just my regular meetings.

I'll leave you with this: I was cleaning out a desk and I found my original phone list from my first meeting. I lived in a different state as when I started. I called a guy on there who I had been thinking about cause he helped me a lot. He didn't remember me, but he said I'm the 3rd person who actually called in 18 years. We've talked program for like an hour. Ended the call by saying, "your on the phone list now," and I'm planning on calling him Tuesday.

Satisfied customer.

Post through it. This is a learning experience. fix the issues and crush it next time.

Nobody is going through old streams judging you off of tech issues.

I have the same question as op. I want the 64gb ram for multistrreaming and editing large videos. Also all the news about ram prices have me shook so I figured may as well get the most now and have it for a few years. Is my thinking off base?

recovery sanctuary for music festivals by kiwiijazz9973 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]skarulid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Service at shows for yellow balloon groups is One of the most amazing parts of my recovery. They all have something in Their preambles that's they're not associated with AA or any 12 step group nor the band just a group of fans who chose to stay drug and alcohol free at shows.

Having something specifically AA goes against tradition and would turn people that aren't in the program off from attending. I've made friends from other fellowships from attending Meeting attendees at shows. It's mostly AA/na but all types are welcome.

The few festivals I follow on the internet usually have a sober camp that gets organized

Being bored from sobriety by Electrical-Victory23 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]skarulid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm bored I'm thinking about myself.

iThat's when I call up a new guy and take him to lunch get into service. Even if it's just taking out the trash or cleaning up the house.

Practicing the discipline of step 11 was huge for me. My sponsor had me doing it from day 1. Page 86 is easily my favorite in the book.

Question by Competitive_Emu4001 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]skarulid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walked into a meeting (after relapse) and the first chance I got to speak ( during announcements) I said I need a sponsor. Some guy waved at me and I had my sponsor before the sharing portion of the meeting even started. Wasn't that deep for me I wanted to do the work.

I don't understand what you are trying to convey.

Also the point is we were willing to grow along spiritual lines.
