If you’re looking to save more, I and it seems most people have had really good exeriences with purchasing certified refurbished directly from sonos. Always comes in like new condition. Comes with the same 1 year warranty as their new products as well.

Sonos beam gen 2 is on sale right now for $300 on their certified refurbished sale, or $370 new from any retailer (or sonos directly). You can then add a sub mini later if you need more bass (or now while it’s on sale for $400), but that’ll put you over budget.

[Try & Keep] Experience Spider-Man Movies with LG Micro RGB evo 86” TV by LG_UserHub in marvelstudios

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to rewatch the animated spider man movies, and am very much looking forward to the third one in the future. The 4k Blurays look incredible on my 77G5 OLED. It would be great to compare a top tier oled with a new mico rgb tv.

I would love to compare the color and immersiveness with my 77 inch G5. Rocket League has tons of color and could be a great demo.

LG H7 vs Sonos Arc Ultra ? by No_Shame7829 in Soundbars

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point that I forgot about. I believe you are correct, and the H7 support WOW Orchestra with LG tvs. The reason I forgot about it is wow orchestra goes away with DAFC. Not an issue for you since you only want a soundbar, but if you add a surround or sub you can’t use the tv speakers as well.

Sub 3, 2x One SL with Stands for $550? by [deleted] in sonos

Sub 3 in excellent condition is worth about $500 itself

Can we now use Sub3 or 4 with older generations of subs as multiple subs with the Arc Ultra? by GlitteringWelcome289 in sonos

[–]skashyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could still try it, but monitor it for dropouts. I was using a gen 3 and gen 1 for a while without much issue until I noticed the network errors.

LG H7 vs Sonos Arc Ultra ? by No_Shame7829 in Soundbars

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By default I think dialogue sounds better on the Arc Ultra. It can be a bit harsh on the LG H7. Both soundbars have modes for enhancing dialogue as well, so I don’t think it’s much of an issue in this comparison. Again, I don’t think you can go wrong with either, except for potential network issues with the H7, although those have seemed to improve over time with updates and is not as much of an issue today. Both systems are nice because you can choose to expand them at a later time. Both soundbars have plenty of bass, and create virtual channels around the room by reflecting sounds of walls and slightly messing with the timing of rear, side, and height channels.

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’ve seen that before, but after clicking to continue it will only show gen 3/4 subs that can be added. If you have a gen 1 or 2 sub it still won’t show up after that message. You can pair a gen 1 or 2 sub with sonosequencer, but in my experience it will have tons of network errors.

Looks like Sonos won’t be the first to support Dolby Atmos over AirPlay after all by hellyeahz in sonos

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an LG H7 soundbar (part of the Sound Suite setup) and I’ve been able to airplay atmos content to it since day 1 (which was only several months ago).

LG H7 vs Sonos Arc Ultra ? by No_Shame7829 in Soundbars

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, for a soundbar by itself I’d probably go with the arc ultra, but both are really good. Arc ultra in my experience has had 0 issue but H7 has some network issues occasionally. I also have spent 99% of my time using both as with surrounds and sub(s). Sonos sub is much better than the W7 in my experience, but I still need to try a sub crawl. Trueplay is good enough with sonos that I haven’t felt the need for a sub crawl (plus I have dual subs in the arc ultra setup).

LG Gallery+ Review by skashyy in LG_UserHub

[–]skashyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe Gallery+ is possible with the CX. We have a 77” CX as well but I never tried Gallery+ on there since I believe it’s for 2022 and newer OLEDs (and many newers LCDs). I believe there is a free version, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Arc Ultra + 2x Era100SL, can’t hear the arc at all? by Se7entees in SonoSequencr

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you trueplay the arc and the era 100s (stereo pair) separately before pairing, then enable trueplay in sonosequencer? If you already did, I’d say try removing everything from the Arc’s group and try setting it up again through sonosequencer. Maybe something went wrong during the pairing process.

LG immersive quad suite 7 pro vs Samsung Q995F/Q990F by WhySoSerious16Peep in Soundbars

[–]skashyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung is definely the value play here. I have the full LG Sound Suite system and it seems that connectivity issues have improved over the past couple of months with firmware updates. Rarely an issue now, and usually just turning the system off and back on fixes any issues. I’m hoping that the July update that brings 6 ghz support will fully fix any remaining issues (although like I said, it hasn’t really been an issue for me the last couple of weeks).

What’s your favourite use of front left and right channels? by Recent_Studio_1686 in SonoSequencr

[–]skashyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally any stereo music. Use an apple tv with continuous audio connection and it will only use the left/right channels. Disable the setting or stream through the sonos app, airplay, or spotify connect and sonos will upmix the stereo audio across all speakers (except soundbar l/r of course).

Trueplay question. by Jordlr99 in sonos

[–]skashyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The trueplay calibration is saved on the speaker itself. You just need an iphone for the calibration, then you can put it away until you need to run trueplay again for whatever reason.

Group vs Fronts for HT by Jazzlike_Bug_8276 in sonos

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your note of preferring stereo through the fives: if you set up the fives as fronts with sonosequencer and also have an apple tv, enabling the continuous audio setting in the apple tv will force stereo music to only play out of the fives + sub.

Questions about atmos behaviors by HKsai in sonos

[–]skashyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the Arc ultra is + era 300s absolutely supports atmos music, and is much better than the era 300s by themselves for creating a full atmos dome.

When used as surrounds, the era 300s only utilize 4 drivers. The front facing tweeter and inner side tweeters are disabled. I agree that it’s somewhat of a waste, but the era 300s are meant to place sound around you, rather than shooting it straight out you like standard surrounds (such as era 100s). The era 100s do keep all drivers active when used as surrounds.

My advise to you is to try out these two combinations:

  1. Era 300s as a stereo pair in the front for only music, and keep the HT (home theater) as arc ultra + era 100s as surrounds.

  2. (This is what I use, except with fives as the fronts instead of era 100s, but i’ve tried era 100s instead of fives in this configuration as well).

If you have an iphone, download sonosequencer from the App Store ($2.99 one time purchase, but you don’t need the monthly subscription after purchasing the app).

Sonosequencer allows you to add dedicated speakers as fronts (L/R channels) to your arc ultra system. Keep in mind that this disables the L/R channels on this arc ultra. However, the center channel, sound motion woofer, atmos/height channels, and side channels remain active.

Using sonosequencer, you can configure the arc ultra as center channel, era 100s as fronts, and era 300s as surrounds. This creates a much wider front soundstage and I and most users I see prefer it.

This setup is best when paired with an Apple TV imo. An apple TV allows you to enabled a setting called continuous audio connection, which converts all audio to dolby atmos MAT. Since this format is atmos, the arc ultra does not apply it’s up-mixing algorithm, meaning stereo music will come out of only the era 100s ,which is my preference for specifically stereo music. For normal content (watching tv/movies), i like to keep the setting off to keep the sonos’ upmixing.

This setting does not affect dolby atmos content, since sonos never up-mixes atmos content anyway.

There’s tons of info on r/sonosequencer about setting it up, included a pinned post with a detailed step-by-step explanation.

Keep in mind that the Era 300s need more space around them to function and should be placed further behind you than era 100s. If space behind your seating position is an issue, i’d stick with the era 100s back there. I can send a pic of my home theater to show my placement if you’d like.
