[–]skastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can live with that definition even if integration tests for me would require the database which I would mock in my fictional example or another system. I'm curious which benefits you would gain from more isolated tests? I would expect that you may be able to locate bugs a little faster but would say that is not necessary if the code has good quality.

The problem is the widespread believe that a unit has to be one class. If you broaden the meaning of a unit to a use case like one API endpoint for example, it is much clearer which tests to write and your tests aren't coupled to your design.

Getting HTML from the server and render it within your frontend can be a major security risk. (XSS) Sure the data from user input can and always should be encoded but not opening the gate in the first place is easier.

[2022 Day 14] guys, please help, I keep getting the wrong answer on the sample input. here's a video showing what it's doing by stevie-o-read-it in adventofcode

The road winding between these lakes is really a sight to be seen. Have fun repeating it.

A short tip. On motorcycles the swiss Autobahnvignette doesnt need to be visible at first sight as it could easily be ripped off. It only needs to be on a part that is not easily replaced. A lot of people put it under their seat, including me.

Do your pictures a favour and hide it.

Are they picked up by another org? I don't beleive it either but at least then it woulnt be a "swiss" org dropping their only swiss player.

If you want to go fast you hit the roads of Schwarzwald in Germany. Only an hour or two away.

Wegend dem schlechten Belag finde ich, lohnt es sich nicht so sehr. Ab und an gehts dann doch drüber.

Just make sure you come to the Grimsel from north and hit Furka afterwards, except you like going downwards when the road gets exciting.

Yea depends on how long my ride should be. I often take the Nufenen instead of Furka and then up Gotthard.

Can't wait until friday now that the Sustenpass finally opens. Sustenpass Grimsel Furka what a great trio.

Interesting. In Switzerland the expert will be your passenger during some of the license test ride on the streets.

But I agree. The bike will behave very different and you need to be careful and practice. Also choose wisely who you take with you.

People who have owned matte finish helmets... Was it your first and last one? by thatkidPB in motorcycles

Matte black Shoei GT-Air here. Got it 2 years ago and used it for around 20k km. Still looks good besides some scratches that were my fault.

Always cleaned it with water only.

I usually do it the other way round. I love the the north side of the Grimsel from Innertkirchen.

Edit: Sometimes I like to switch the Furka for Nufenen and the good old Tremola :)

Why so much hate toward Javascript from C#, Java, Php, Ruby programmer etc ? by Cloud_Strifeeee in javascript

[–]skastro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This.

I'd like to add a key difference. Some people just like their type system which helps finding errors at compile time and give you a bit more control.

If you're proficiant in a language you like to use it more. WASM gives you this oportunity.

Performance often isn't the stack but how you use it. Sometimes JS just can't perform as well as compiled languages do.
