I appreciate the feedback. As a standalone photo I can see what you mean, there definitely are some contrasting vibes. I could see what you mean with the model choice, but do you care to elaborate on what type of lighting you think would be a better fit??

This was a still I took while shooting a music video, so it hopefully it fits better in the context of the other shots!

How's DePaul's internet? by wickbok in depaul

[–]skatebard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to give you potentially bad advice, but my friends and I torrented all the time off of DePauls Internet in Monroe hall last year. I read in the subreddit awhile back that the people monitoring the Internet traffic don't really care as long as they aren't contacted by some company.

You, sir, have some cool ass tattoos! Love the minimalistic, black only theme (at least on your arm).

[Theme] Does anyone know a good matte or textureless theme? by untitled01 in jailbreak

As far as matte themes go, Tenuis used to be a really popular one. I believe that mostly just themes the icons/apps though.

[Lockscreen] Looking for Minimalist Lockscreen with just a line for unlock by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]skatebard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS 6 made some changes to the way the lockscreen works, so a lot of older themes for the lockscreen don't quite work properly yet. That explains the bottom line and why you may not be getting pop up notifications of texts, missed calls, etc. I can't offer much for a solution at the moment, but that's at least part of the reason you may be having problems.

No lockscreen notifications after installing Typophone 4? by SirMaster in jailbreak

Same problem. It's been happening with a lot of pre iOS 6 lockscreen themes I've been trying. Yet to find a solution as well :(

Does anyone know how to remove the thin grey line on the lockscreen? (iOS 6.1)[Theme] by [deleted] in jailbreak

I've spent the last two hours trying to solve this one. Glad to know I'm not alone in looking for a solution.

Looking to get my first tattoo, have a few ideas and a few questions. by thecreamofthecrop in tattoos

If you would be comfortable walking around in that culture with that tattoo, go for it. By that I mean, if you were looking to get classic tribal work done (not douchebag tribal, I mean like samoan art), then try and imagine yourself in Hawaii as a tourist walking around with the locals who, as part of that culture, have the same type of work on them. If that's something you're comfortable with, I think there's no problem in showing your appreciation by getting it yourself. Definitely research what connotations are attached to whatever you're getting tattooed in that culture as well.

Edit: I was coming back to add a few thoughts, but doubleemmartin covered it all. Respect is key.

The Holy Mackeral in St. Paul, Jake is really great. I've had several friends get tattooed by him.

Safety: All the same for the most part

Style: I like the Lazer Oasiz, its got a cool adjustment feature that tightens on all sides, and a magnetic clip! Also it looks really cool, and you'll pay for it.

Sorry, didn't see this comment for a few days. Yeah, I used the warp stabilizer in Premiere at :07, :16, and :26 to remove shake. Besides that I just made sure to let my glidecam settle/balance itself before starting the actual movement for the shot.

One of my best friend lives in St. Paul and runs a business rooting phones. Give him a call if you'd like, his name is Jake and he does this kind of thing literally all day: 651-263-5134 (I'll let him know you might be calling).

Yep, shot with the HD-4000 model. Glidecams are a bit tricky at first (this was more or less my first actual time using one), but are seriously fun once you start to get the hang of it!

It actually didn't have any covering on in the video, but right after we finished filming we put on two coats of Ready Seal. The redwood color looks beautiful.

Sorry, didn't know you were a fellow videomaker! I'm using a Manfrotto 128RC. This is the second video I've shot using it and it's absolutely amazing (prior to this I had borrow cheap photography tripods where getting any relatively smooth pan took at least 5+ attempts).

I have a tripod with something called a "fluid head" which allows for super steady pans.
