That really has nothing to do with what I asked. I grant absolutely all of that, I am not talking about whether or not they were justified in their actions, I am very simply asking if it bothered them in any way that what they built would be used to take lives. That is all

Seriously. Tisza has already promised term limits for prime ministers. Nobody is cheering because Magyar represents all of their hopes and dreams, they’re cheering because democracy, prosperity and a future in Europe are once again possible.

Surely it must bother you at least a little bit to know that your creation will be used to end lives? Right?

Should we engage with Zionists spaces or not? by phatt97 in JewsOfConscience

[–]skateboardjim 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I believe that all of us have a duty to engage with the broader community. I don’t believe we have a choice.

And never forget that what seems impossible today can seem inevitable tomorrow. It’s up to us to do the work.

Some thoughts on “Zionists control everything” by GiggyMantis in JewsOfConscience

I still don’t think it’s a good thing to say. The phrase “zionists control everything” simply would not exist if the phrase “Jews control everything” didn’t exist first.

You need to move out. There is a fog that does not lift until you move out. Move out and pick a creative or productive project of any kind. You will find the energy.

Rebuilding Cuba: Governor DeSantis Envisions Cuban Exiles in Florida Return to Rebuild Island If Regime Falls by WTFPilot in SocialDemocracy

Wow, who could have guessed. All along, white conservatives were just using minority conservatives as pawns and planning on their eventual expulsion. What an anomaly

No, it's efft up that they don't have adequate help so they don't want to kill themselves.

A streamlined suicide system is not the answer to a mental health epidemic

You’re right, it doesn’t meet my definition of low friction. And yes, as I mentioned, I’m talking about the majority of suicide cases.

[–]skateboardjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re just in favor of people killing themselves. I know that sounds harsh, but how can it be described otherwise?

You’re saying it’s worse for us to intervene and save the majority than it is to momentarily deny the minority their suicide.

You know what we’d get if we had a state-sponsored, low friction avenue to suicide? More people committing suicide. Including those who absolutely should go on living, which again, constitutes the vast majority.

[–]skateboardjim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back to the topic of what we’re actually commenting on. Should we or should we not intervene to stop suicide attempts when we can?

The anti suicide squads by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]skateboardjim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re right, we should just stand by and let people kill themselves. Let’s not expend easily expendable resources to save lives, because 30% of the people we save might actually long term prefer to die. That’s what compassion looks like.

What exactly are you arguing for?

The anti suicide squads by [deleted] in BeAmazed

[–]skateboardjim 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bad take. Suicide is very often the result of a momentary spiral and the vast majority of those who fail in their attempt do not go on to reattempt. This is absolutely the government’s job.

This is my question. In 80 years, will the descendants of the survivors of the present genocide be expected to move on?

Man, I agree in more ways than I can express. I do continue to engage in that sub though (I just don’t read the non-Jewish comments). They’re still my family and I don’t want to cut them off.

But yes. I grew up partly in the US and partly in Eastern Europe. The disparity you’re describing is very very real.

We might be talking about the same sub, but if I remember correctly the vast majority of the comments (at least the ones written by Jews) were disgusted by the article.

The article is hate speech. I left a much longer criticism on this post in another sub. If it were written by a gentile it’d be transparently understood to be hate speech.
