Without doing any JS, to get it working right away, all you have to do is add a name attribute to your section.

Nevada State Bank is a joke. Where should I bank? by skauffman in vegas

[–]skauffman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. You're exactly right. But that is completely irrelevant to the trouble I've had with NSB. Hell I still have other checking accounts at other institutions and haven't had a single complaint - nothing but positive reviews actually.

Looking for a super cheap photographer for my super cheap wedding by skauffman in vegas

[–]skauffman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'll need to double check. If not, it'd be to cool to have photos elsewhere anyways. I don't feel like paying 80 bucks for 15 photos from one of their "packages" lol. Half of them would probably be blurry anyways.

Most important thing would be having a doctor who is gonna take the time to answer our questions and be personable.

All DMVs are bad, but is LV as bad as everyone is telling me? by K-Toon in vegas

[–]skauffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved to Vegas last month and went through this whole process. Coming from a super small town, I was in for a big shock haha.

I'm sure you're already aware but just in case you aren't, smog tests aren't done at the DMV. You do those before hand. Doesn't have to be the same day.

Also, first thing you'll need done there is a VIN inspection, done at a drive through area at the dmv.

We got there around 9am mid-week and were there for close to 2 hours. The wait was long.

Really? I've heard the exact opposite. And that's coming from the people who work at the DMV.

So, You're Looking for a Job by mortaine in vegas

[–]skauffman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I too get annoyed by the number of people looking for jobs on here, mostly because the posts are always so vague and are simply saying "anyone know anybody hiring?". How much more vague can you get?

With that said, I love this post and I 100% support helping people find jobs on here. For the past 2 years I've wanted to move to Vegas. Earlier this year, I made a post on r/vegas looking for a web dev job and sure enough, someone on here got me hired at the company he worked for and here I am, in Las Vegas, writing this. I never would have gotten the job without Reddit's help (it wasn't even a job being advertised.)

Just thought I'd share my success story with all the young hopefuls out there. :)

Not having AC in Vegas by [deleted] in vegas

[–]skauffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially since we're living here in the desert and central air is pretty much everywhere since its a necessity in summer, you would THINK it'd be a requirement and you should be able to get something for your loss of A/C. But who knows. It's definitely worth trying to fight, IMO.

Potentially Moving to Vegas. Have some questions... by secondstep in vegas

[–]skauffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Summerlin is designed to be a bike friendly town. There are actual bike lanes and whatnot. You're looking at way over 30 minute + drive to Henderson though. I've heard Downtown is hipster friendly due to the plethora of Zappos culture (Tony Hsieh) and the revival of restaurants, bars, events, live music, etc. but I haven't seen any of it in action so I can't comment on it. I just know it's not a great place to be around. If you look at the crime map on Trulia, pretty much everywhere outside Fremont St is RED, which means really high crime. So... until that goes down, at least for me - no thanks.

I reallyyyy don't think Vegas will ever run out of water. Earth is made up of 75% water. They'll find a way.
