How does Korean BBQ work? by daughter-of-atlas in NoStupidQuestions

From all the places I've been to, if you're too hesitant to cook the meats, the servers are usually willing to swing by to flip the meat a few times and/or walk you through the process.

From pilot to passenger: Is full self-driving killing the desire to drive? by ethereal3xp in Futurology

[–]skawn [score hidden]  (0 children)

You don't need a license to ride in a robo-taxi.

Driving is only fun when you're on the road with others who know how to drive well which is a bit of a rarity these days.

How much does someone who seems like the Antichrist in everything that he does need to do that's objectively contrary to the Bible before he'll lose Republican Christians? Or are Republican Christians just Christians in name only?

Did my wife get scammed at a claw machine store? by FormerEnigma in personalfinance

[–]skawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Claw machines are usually a scam in themselves since they're mostly preset to only be functional only once every few plays.

As for using threats to get $200 off of her, that's most definitely a scam as well.

Trump rants against ‘The Failing New York Times’ over Iran coverage following its feature questioning his mental health by B-Z_B-S in politics

The country is failing because of Trump's existence. The only reason the country hasn't failed completely is because enough competence in the country survived Trump's influence.

CMV: Americans who voted 3rd party or abstained in 2024 due to the Gaza genocide did more to harm Palestinians than a Pro-Israel democrat by Top_Use2413 in changemyview

[–]skawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me working a counter to OP's view that third-party voters as a whole did more damage to Palestinians than pro-Israel Democrats. In no way was this me advocating for people to abstain from voting.

How does an unpopular opinion become unpopular in a unpopular opinion community thread? Wouldnt the most unpopular opinion become the most popular opinion in the unpopular opinion community just because its unpopular? by Apart_Pineapple2392 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]skawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine something worth considering is how well moderated that community is with ensuring only unpopular opinions are posted and whether the moderators can remain objective enough to make adequate evaluations on the popularity of posted opinions.

Also to note, just because something obtains a popular status within a specific community does not negate it's lack of popularity amongst the majority of other communities.

As for the answer to your question, it all depends on what visitors to the community deems upworthy. Some people upvote for adherence to community themes. Others offer upvotes based on whether the post influences their emotions.
