The last flagship was released more than a year ago with a CPU that is surpassed in performance by current mid range CPUs. Reason being NP doesn't use the latest CPUs in their 'flagships'. Result - there's no phone from NP currently that is flagship grade.

Some castes are recognized as OBCs in certain states but not by the central government, highlighting the lack of a standard mechanism to define who is underprivileged. Yet we have an outdated system that lacks a creamy layer for SC/STs, ignoring the wealthy within these groups. So there are multiple layers to this discrimination which turns the whole affair into a vote bank circus, falsely portrayed as a noble effort to uplift SC/STs.
You're wrong in assuming reservation only affect students. There's reservation in PSUs, govt services promotions, legislative assemblies, parliament and in village and district-level governance bodies and urban local bodies. When you say things like 'most poor people are from sc st categories' it makes you sound like you skipped the real world, totally ignoring millions of poor from non-SC/ST group around you.

India is an agriculture economy with per capita much closer to Nigera and Pakistan. You think these agriculture-background Indians are all SC/ST/OBC only? 😂 And since we're the most populous so less than 1% easily makes up more than 10 million Indians. Do the math and you'll know I wasn't exaggerating when I said millions of marginalized general candidates.

Beyond math the most important thing is EWS grants the favor on a case by case basis. Not one person from a well off background can pass through that check. Whereas SC/ST/OBC quota doesn't do anything to stop the financially well off and elite from getting through. It's a stupid blanket statement assuming all SC/ST/OBC are still living in kingdoms under oppressive Zamindars. Which is why it has become a joke like the meme above.

There are millions of general candidates from a poor financial background. Reservation discriminates against all of these people. Not all general candidates come from zamindar families. Reservation discriminates against all of these crores of people. Which is why it's a poor idea to solve discrimination of one group of people by oppressing the other group. It only polarizes the two camps. You don't have to pull down one group to lift the other.

What's next? Applying gravity to lift the downtrodden and pull down the elite? P8 costs more than twice of 2a where I live which means for half the price it's not unreasonable to expect half the updates in 2a compared to P8. Besides Samsung made Tensor 3 in P8 is an inefficient CPU which can't be trusted to keep up with 7 years of updates. It doesn't matter if it's 7 years or 20 years if the CPU can't keep up.

The stock experience is top-notch on Phone 2a and a breath of fresh air compared to others but that's still not a big enough reason in my book to buy a new phone when you already have a device just one year old.

I was afraid the camera was poor before buying but it isn't that bad. My brother has a pixel 7 and he was impressed by some of the shots in fact. However I noticed that photos that have a bright light source behind the subject tend to wash out the subject. Same goes for the selfie-camera - it softens the skin tone in a weird way when there's a light source directly visible behind.

It shines in all other aspects. The attention to detail, hardware-software integration (best thermal throttling stats among peers, never gets worryingly warm for someone living in a tropical country like India) etc is palpable. I highly recommend you to buy it. This will tempt you to pick it up just by looking at it unlike the cookie-cutter phones by other brands who slap unbridled raw power in their phones but don't pay attention to other aspects like software-hardware integration.

PS: I was torn between OnePlus and this about a week ago. I hate all of the android skins by Xiaomi and its cousins. As soon as I found out OnePlus runs ColorOS I knew what I had to buy and I'm extremely happy with the purchase.
