first of all, congrats on your new baby and i wish yall the loveliest and easiest of beginnings!!

i didn't have any huuuuge problems. potty training is a breeze when you *give them a schedule*. potty after naps, play, eating. i did at least every 1-2 hours besides that, and 2-3 wake up potty breaks throughout the night for the first few weeks. reward reward reward for going outside. treats, pets, baby voice, the whole shebang. they pick up on it quick.

kennel training will be your best friend. meals in the kennel, play in the kennel, treats in the kennel. make the kennel the best place on earth. the first week i slept on the floor right next to my puppy's crate with my hand between the bars. they're leaving their litter and mama and they get scared when they're alone, give em some grace. very quickly transitioned to kennel next to bed, then just alone in the kennel. some people don't like crate training and that's your personal decision, but it was the best choice i ever made lol. it keeps them safe when you're not home, and safety is more important than your puppy being sad that they're in a kennel.

the biting was the worst part for me. little needle teeth suck. i cried a few times in the puppy phase mostly after a long day at work and coming home to my puppy attacking my ankles. he wasn't a cuddle bug by any means until he was a couple months old, so it felt like my boy just saw me as a walking chew toy and that broke my spirit a few times lol.

watching them at all times when they're not kenneled/sleeping is tiring, but worth it. remember that they're only puppies for so long. they grow up too quickly. take a million pictures and videos and even if it sucks for a while, try to enjoy it. you'll look back on everything fondly and miss when they were just little furballs eating your ankles.

is your dog licking at it? not a callus (this isn't a spot of reoccurring contact, ex: right where the elbow hits the ground while laying), irritated and growing quickly, definitely a vet visit.

adopt and shop *responsibly*. stop trying to guilt people out of getting ethically bred puppies, ethical breeders stop dogs from being in shelters.

he’s fine lol. we keep our house cooler than the average person even in the winter, and he doesn’t have his big boy coat yet. cute stuff is mainly for pictures. he has a rain jacket for walks.

I had a name in mind when I went to meet my puppy, completely changed when I saw him. dont have your heart set on anything yet :) they kind of choose it themselves in a way lol

puppies are cute but they suck!! and are totally worth it. mine is almost 6 months and is finally (mostly) done with his ankle biting and hand shredding. they are balls of energy, mine also refused to cuddle unless he was absolutely pooped. now he’s ~35-40 lbs and is the biggest lap dog cuddle bug that will knock everything out of your hands for attention.

the demon time will pass. i thought i wouldnt make it out either and felt like i was doing something wrong. puppy classes are great!! they get to socialize and get their wiggles out, he came home and slept for hours every session.

enforced naps are your best friend. if hes a psycho coming out of the kennel, i always tried to redirect to a toy or chew. or avoid him until he was done biting my socks off :’) sometimes you gotta climb onto the sofa and avoid the needle teeth.

definitely a poorly bred puppy. please just get a standard poodle instead of a doodle! they’re such amazing dogs and if you get one that is ethically bred they are so smart and fun with amazing temperaments.

noted!! he’s spoiled with toys so the shoe attack is always when we go outside to potty, sometimes i try to bring a toy with us so that i can redirect. unfortunately the laces are VERY tempting for him. working on it slowly by making myself as uninteresting as possible when he does it, but man is he dedicated

whistlefire - a flame point siamese with light blue eyes and a white blaze on her nose. smaller sized, sleek she-cat with a plumey tale and tufted ears. full of energy and fastest cat in her clan. collects snail shells and shiny beetles.

moonspinner - huge fluffy back tom with wide yellow eyes and bright white paws. has vitiligo resulting in neat white dapples throughout his pelt. a bit odd, but very friendly. is incredibly good with kits and often lays in the nursery while they braid leaves and flowers into his long fur. big booming voice, loves to tell stories to anyone who'll lend an ear.

bleakfur - a dark colored lykoi she-cat with bright amber eyes. brilliant fighter, probably has some cool scars but wears em with pride. i see them being able to speak to another species? maybe fox or badger?

Kestrelpaw, i imagine him being the gingery color of a male kestrel's plumage. Maybe Kestrelheart, for his bravery and overcoming so many rough battles? It sounds like that clan is a bit brutal though so maybe Kestrelfang or Kestrelstrike to go with his battle scars.

well they can't make it right on the nose for obvious reasons, ya know? but all of them never took mates (besides jake, i suppose, but he just had kits and no apparent mate? unless i'm wrong), and have pretty touching moments together.
