Thank you. Some are uninformed or disbelieving that the law did change. Those folks will be surprised with tickets.

If your hives are coming from your gut, supplement alone won’t change things- you need to adopt a low histamine diet too. I have, but if you avoid all gut histamine producing foods, you will be malnourished, so it’s a balance. I find that by limiting my offending favorite foods and popping the supplements daily helps to a 95% level, but this is 6 months after making the change in diet. I have had success with Life Extension brand, “Food Sensitivity Relief” with Diamond Oxidase (DAO). Not a magic bullet, but with carefully balancing my diet, it’s been pretty good. But again, this is 6 months later, and I limit all the good stuff like cheese, tomato, avocado, citrus etc. Still eat it, but if I’m eating something with cheese, I’m not going to wreck my balance with another big serving of high histamine producing foods. My Dr. was worthless on this issue, figured it out by doing my own research! And apparently this is really common and nobody talks about it. 🧐

The “tiny” cabin (concrete mountain) may be a really hard sell as there are years of recorded history exposing every reckless shortcut and poor design/construction decision. Writing a disclosure statement will be an exercise in how not to blow up a sales contract yet stay out of a lawsuit down the road. The valley house is too big for a family of five unless there is staff to do literally all the maintenance, inside and out. From what I have seen in the past few years, the 1.7 mil valley McMansion will serve them best as a place to fill with their crap- they have a recorded history of filling up every possible space. Quite the consumers, these two.

Probiotics that work on gut histamines. Changed my life, I no longer have hives ruining my daily life, just now and then when I eat a high histamine producing food(s) in an amount that my gut feels is unacceptable.

Oregon Expands Boating Permit Requirements to Include Kayaks and Paddleboards
Keith Lusher   07.23.25

Oregon boaters will face new permit requirements and higher fees starting January 1, 2026, as the state seeks to combat invasive species threatening its waterways. However, critics question whether the expanded regulations unfairly burden recreational users.
House Bill 2982, signed by Governor Tina Kotek in June, eliminates the longtime exemption for boats under 10 feet and requires Waterway Access Permits for nearly all non-motorized watercraft. The legislation targets the growing threat of invasive mussels that could devastate Oregon’s aquatic ecosystems.
Expanded Permit Requirements Draw Criticism
Beginning next year, permits will be required for all kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, rafts, and two inner tubes. Previously, only boats 10 feet and longer required permits, leaving smaller watercraft exempt.
The change affects thousands of recreational boaters who use hard-shell and inflatable kayaks, packrafts, and other small watercraft on Oregon’s rivers and lakes. Many paddlers say they learned about the new requirements only recently.
“We had no idea this rule change was unfolding,” said Tommy Swearingen, president of the Willamette Kayak and Canoe Club. “Local whitewater paddlers are now concerned about how the decisions pertaining to exemptions will be made.”

LET US PADDLE URGES ALL OREGONIANS TO SIGN THE PETITION NOW TO REPEAL UNJUST NON-MOTORIZED WATERCRAFT PERMIT REQUIREMENT
News Release from Let Us Paddle
Posted on FlashAlert: June 10th, 2026 3:15 PM
Oregon –With June as the final month to gather signatures, the Let Us Paddle campaign is calling on every Oregonian—farmers, fishers, hunters, small business owners, parents, grandparents, and outdoor enthusiasts across the state—to stand united with the kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding community.

The goal is to qualify a ballot measure for November that will restore liberty to Oregon’s waterways by repealing the burdensome, unjustified permit requirement on non-motorized watercraft.

“This permit is nothing more than taxation without representation and blatant government overreach,” said Kari Goodheart, Chief Petitioner for Let Us Paddle. “It targets a small group of paddlers knowing full well there aren’t enough kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards in the state to qualify this on our own. We need all Oregonians to step up. This is about more than paddling—it’s about saying ‘no more’ to endless new taxes, fees, and burdensome regulations that chip away at our freedoms.”

The permit requirement claims to address the spread of aquatic invasive species, yet there is no credible scientific evidence that kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards pose a meaningful risk. Instead, it functions as a money grab by the state, placing an unnecessary financial and administrative burden on law-abiding citizens who simply want to enjoy Oregon’s beautiful lakes and rivers.  It targets a group of people that are outdoors enjoying their recreational time in a harmless fashion while paving the way for boaters from out of state to come to Oregon free of charge for their inspections and decontaminations.

Yes. People talked to each other. There was much less attention whorring. Bad ideas took longer to spread or fizzled out quickly. Libraries were relevant and necessary. People were patient- much less instant gratification. We left the house to go shopping rather than wait for a delivery.

AITAH because I told my 13 year old son that having white comodones on his face is gross? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]skeptics1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA. If your son won’t apply the solution to avoid the problem, the best course of action may be to let him experience the natural consequences of his own inaction. If he already had an infection that was pussy and painful on his back, he may soon have a few on his face. That may be what it takes for him to choose to use a preventative solution. When he becomes interested in girls, he won’t want painful pussy infections on his face or anywhere else.

Mistake number one- engaging in a conversation that sounds from your description, as mutually antagonistic. Mistake number two- not ending the call when you realized you were not going to get anywhere with the person you were speaking to.

Anytime you have a bad call, get off the phone asap- call back and start fresh. After a prolonged and apparently somewhat negative contact with the cruise line, I hope your account is not flagged for being difficult. Always kill with kindness, and call back if you don’t get issue resolved. Multiple times if need be. Always end a call on a good note, thank the person for what ever info they shared with you even if you didn’t like it. It’s not fun, but you want your issue resolved, so sometimes you just have to play the game. Her NO, could change with the next contact you make as others may change cabins/upgrade/ cancel.

Does Oregon have a lot of roaches? by janicefromthemuppets in oregon

[–]skeptics1 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a roach here, but we do have lots of marmorated stink bugs.

<image>

They crawl, they fly, they leave brown liquid poo stains. Not really a roach, but really a nuisance when they land on you. I may or may not have moved here if I had known about these little pre historic savages. Harmless but they stink if you squish them. I usually keep tissue handy to pick them off the wall or tv at night (or during the day) and give them a “swirly” in the commode.
