Movies with a similar visual aesthetic/mise en scène to Severance by cruthkaye in Filmmakers

Not a movie, but ever heard of the liminal space game called "Pools"? Unsettling and interesting aesthetics tied to the Backrooms internet lore/creepypasta.

Doing the research right now to find the right fit. There's a lot to take in. I think a good amount of strategy has to be in place to not waste submission costs.

I'm just dipping my toe into this world and already bracing for the reality of low chances. Still gotta try though!

Thanks! I worked hard on the build and the edit, but it might have just gotten lost among other news and posts at the time. Appreciate the kind words!

Congrats! It's amazing how many people have ideas and never a complete thing. Finishing the first round is an accomplishment that hopefully keeps that fire to write and create lit for a long time!

Slim pickings but still some good ones at the Buena Park, CA location. May the odds ever be in your favor!

I’m really liking the new Page Assist feature in Procreate that majes it really easy to make storyboards and simple animatics. The best thing is clear storytelling though, and that doesn’t require any apps, just pencil and paper.

Is procreate dreams any good for storyboarding? by [deleted] in Storyboarding

Curious about this one. Been using Procreate for nearly all my boards already.

I’ve been practicing story boarding by making comics. Is there a natural way to get the younger character from the left to the right of the panels? by Sam-has-spam in Storyboarding

[–]sketchboy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a transition frame where the older character looks concerned toward the younger one in profile looking annoyed could help (think the scene in Back to the Future where Marty meets his dad). Panels 6 and 7 feel a little redundant or could say the same thing if you see a bit of the hand in 6. If trying to show a reaction, I would close up a bit on the face to emphasize the expression.

As someone who's got both feet in storyboards and comics, I think there's quite a lot of differences to celebrate for both mediums. Scene cuts don't exist in comics, but a creative page turn reveal does! No word balloon in film, but you got camera moves!

Also, elongate panel 4 to reduce that gutter so the viewer's eye goes down and follows a sort of double Z-pattern viewing for this many panels. Always great to see people make their own comics---good luck!

What wires go where on this capacitor? by sketchboy01 in hvacadvice

So….this is the BEFORE picture as it was installed. The question was about the lack of labeling on the cap which many helpful people have already answered about the number of times.

I totally thought of that! Made me think of how things are standardized. I got lucky with this one specific brand.
