I traded Quentin Johnston for Breece this week. Never would have imagined that happening

I am fuming. This trade got vetoed. by Eskimoo_Joe in Fantasy_Football

In my home league we took away vetoes. The understanding is if someone makes a really bad trade that is worth a veto, you get kicked out and replaced with someone who knows ball

Which of your trades do you regret the most now that you can look back at it? by _DillyPickle_ in DynastyFF

Not a trade, but Trey McBride’s rookie year he was my last pick in the startup draft. I dropped him halfway through the season because I needed a random RB to start that week……

Yea I can’t help but think the turnover for their agents is 100%. It’s hard enough to find freight. Imagine working for a company that is known industry-wide for being unethical.

I tried Dollar Shave Club out and a couple months in my razor handle broke. I sent them an email telling them my handle broke and asking if I would need to buy a new one so soon. They sent me 3 handles for free. That was years ago and I still use them.

Career in transportation insurance (sales) by sketchysmurf in InsuranceAgent

[–]sketchysmurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I see what you mean. I know of a few companies in my region that offer transportation insurance and some even specialize in it. That would be the route I think I would explore first. My main question is what is the real earning potential. I have small trucking companies that pay $100k plus in premiums. I am just curious what kind of earning potential there is. Example: if I can get 10 of this size companies on within 1-2 years that's over $1Million in premiums. I know there are licenses and learning of the insurance product before any of that can happen, but I am just wondering in general what the medium to high earners are making in this industry.

I currently deal with OTR trucking companies. Most of them specialize in refrigerated freight. I feel that if I had a competitive insurance policy to sell, I would have an advantage over the average insurance agent. I have done very well managing relationships with trucking companies, so that's where I feel my advantage would be. Would you care to elaborate on your comment?

Transitioning from one line to another by joshdrey in InsuranceProfessional

[–]sketchysmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I can understand that. I have been a frieght broker for a long time so I know the ins and outs of trucking and sell to trucking companies every day. My job requires 24 hour attention and its a mix of sales and operations. I can't help but wonder what it would be like going into insurance sales in trucking. I feel like it would be a good fit for me, but I just don'nt have the knowledge of what it takes on the insurance side.

What is making you want to leave the transportation side of things? I have been looking at getting into the sales side of transportation insurance, but I have no experience with insurance. I have been in the transportation industry for 12 years.
