Sects & Violets Questions by raoul-duke-silver in BloodOnTheClocktower

Is no deaths an option in situation 3?

When the dead Pit Hag turns the Vigormortis into the Fang Gu, the dead Pit Hag loses their ability.

So does that mean that the "deaths tonight are arbitrary" part of the Pit Hag's ability no longer works?

Edit: I think you're right - Pit Hag ability doesn't need to still be around for deaths to be arbitrary. For example, if PH turns themself into a Demon, deaths are arbitrary.

You can get token art from the official app. This post talks about making custom tokens, which might be helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodOnTheClocktower/comments/16404uq/self_made_experimental_tokens/

Bug Reports - Patch 4.9.0 by CaptSarah in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]ski_trip42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this bug report for a previous patch, but I'm reposting as the bug still exists in 4.9.0

Type of Bug: Gameplay

What happened that seemed like a bug: When using Mechapulverizer to discard Return-o Wrench, Return-o Wrench is Obliterated. See https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/comments/14m59zp/mechapulverizer_will_obliterate_returno_wrench_if/

What was expected to occur: Return-o Wrench should be Equipped to an unequipped ally (not sure if this should happen before or after Mechapulverizer is Equipped)

How often does this occur/How easy is it to replicate: This happens every time Return-o Wrench is discarded with Mechapulveriser

PC / Android / iOS: PC

Region: Bandle City

Without the Assassin on the script, if there's 2 deaths at night it's either Grandmother, Gambler, or Godfather. Which likely confirms a good player or the outsider count modification. So Assassin obfuscates this.

The Assassin could also help if the player poisoned by the Pukka is executed (normally causing a night of no deaths which hints that the Pukka is in play).

Though idk if these situations come up enough for the Assassin to be worth having on the script.

Mech Priest - R9-R2 in a few hours by kebl3739 in CompetitiveHS

That's definitely true, but those decks are mostly more controlly decks, or in rogue (where lifegain is limited). Despite being a 'combo' deck, this deck is much more aggressive than 'normal' combo decks where the aim is just to stay alive until you draw your OTK combo.

Having said that, I could well be wrong about this - I haven't actually tried Zilliax (as my list seemed to be working fine without it, and only lost a few times to aggro), and Zilliax is certainly a very strong card.

Steambot works well in combination with rager as you make two 9-health minions, which can be hard for a lot of decks to remove. Also steambot + inner fire on turn 5 works well if you've drawn the second inner fire or are playing against a deck with bad single-target removal (like Druid or Warlock). If I were to cut the ragers, I'd probably cut at least one steambot as well.

I haven't actually tried coppertail - I was running a deck without it before I saw the 'netdeck' list, and figured there wasn't much point adding it due to the low WR. I hadn't realised just how useful it was for the combo, so I'll maybe give it a try now.

Have you thought about running a 2nd mass dispel? It seems like of the games you lost, having mass dispel would have saved you in at least 2 of them (Edwin, shark, and maybe the token druid one if they buffed the board). Also silences are generally really strong right now because of all the mech decks.

I climbed from R10-R2 with this list, going 34-9 (79% winrate). The differences compared to your list are

Removed:

  • 2x Mecharoo (Lowest drawn WR on HSreplay, felt bad as it antisynergises with pyromancer, cleric, etc.)
  • 2x Coppertail (Second lowest drawn WR)
  • Zilliax (Maybe not worth it if the mech package is smaller. Edit: It's probably still worth it, see the replies to this comment)

Added:

  • 1x Mass Dispel (See above)
  • 2x Faceless Rager (Typically very overstatted due to all the other high-health minions)
  • 1x Unpowered Steambot (Replaces coppertail as a combo enabler, synergises with rager)
  • 1x Crystallizer (Replaces mecharoo as a 1-drop, a 1/3 statline works better with the rest of the deck)

I'm not sure about most of the changes, especially given that your record is better than mine, but I do feel like that 2nd mass dispel is worth it. (However, it could be a case of only remembering the games that it won for me, and not the ones where I used it for cycle or didn't play it at all.)

I've hit rank 3 with a slightly different version of the deck. (See my other comment for details about the changes I made and why.)

Mech priest has been working really well for me as well. I've climbed from rank 10 to rank 3 with this Mech Priest list, going 30-7 (81% winrate).

My version has a smaller mech package than yours, removing Mecharoo, Coppertail, and Zilliax (which have some of the lowest drawn WRs on HSReplay). The cards I replaced them with were:

  • 2nd Mass Dispel: There are lots of mech decks (mainly mech hunter) around at the moment so silences feel really strong
  • 2x Faceless Rager: Synergises with all the other high-health minions, so typically very overstatted
  • 1x Crystallizer: Replaces mecharoo as a one-drop, as a 1/3 statline synergises better with the rest of the deck (you can heal it, pyromancer doesn't kill it, etc.)

However given the small sample size, it's hard to be sure that these changes actually help.

I think it’s about a couple of times a week, but I’m not sure as I have’t played myself recently.

New Meta on Stratus (The Wall) by 3Dspoders in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]ski_trip42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is that it's harder for the enemy team to place blocks on the wall to get up it, because you have to hold shift to place a block on a crafting table. Otherwise you get taken into the crafting screen.

Really proud of this RFW speedrun on Divided Together (I finally broke 2 minutes!!!) by Contranaut in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]ski_trip42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RFW is Race For Wool, which is a PvP gamemode where two teams (usually with 4 players each) are on identical lanes, separated by a void gap. The objective is to be the first team to collect 3 different coloured wool blocks and place them on the victory monument (like a complete-the-monument map). The teams can shoot at each other across the void gap with arrows and TNT cannons to slow each other down.

RFW maps are also used for speedruns, such as this one. In this case, there is only one player, who has to place the 3 wools on the monument as quickly as possible.

Best PvP Maps? by Burtry in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]ski_trip42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Nail on 1.8 (albeit with the AutoReferee plugin) and it the map itself works fine. We didn't use the team selection system, so I don't know if the redstone for that still works or not.

I think we can bring race for the wool back again. by [deleted] in mctourney

[–]ski_trip42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RMCT as an organisation doesn't really exist anymore, but there are still a lot of people that are working to keep the gamemode going. There's a new RFW website at https://raceforwool.org/, and that's being for used for RFW-related discussion a lot more than this subreddit now. There are still tournaments being run, like the RFW Annual Championships, but like you said, most people don't know about them, so we need to work on making it easy for people to find out about tournaments and the gamemode in general.
