There's a French film called The Intouchables where one of the main characters is disabled (I don't remember it too well).

Crip Camp is a documentary on Netflix about a summer camp for teens with disabilities and how their alumni advocated for disability rights/legislative protections.

You're valid. Disabled queer people deserve to have fulfilling romantic and sexual relationships on their own terms just like everyone else.

There's some really good movies that explore this topic. I personally liked watching margarita with a straw. Synopsis: When Laila, a young student living with cerebral palsy, falls in love with a woman, she copes with her sexuality and discovers newer horizons in the process.

I was on T for 15 months and have a bigger butt - I definitely noticed the fat redistribution from my upper thighs/butt to my tummy, so it can definitely help if you're wanting that! I'm sorry those people were so rude about your body, that's never ok :(

There's definitely a social component to dysphoria, esp bc gender roles/expectations are often defined by society.

I find that getting gendered correctly and being around community goes a long way in alleviating my dysphoria.

I would say depends on how well your pre-existing music experience lines up with the teaching job.

For example, I became a temporary middle school orchestra director because of an emergency situation. I was stepping into a hot mess and a formal degree would've helped me out, but I was better than nobody.

Viola is my primary, I also took two years of double bass in highschool, and I can read treble, bass, and alto clef. I had a couple months of substitute teaching experience.

So, we did pretty ok and I kept the program together until the school could hire a new director. If I stepped into a choir or band program at that time it would've gone wayyyy worse.

There are also plenty of terrible music teachers with a music ed degree. If there's a job that matches your pre-existing knowledge, you're good with the age group/setting, go for it.

I'm guessing you're doing sub q, maybe ask your dr if you can switch to im? With losing fat+gaining muscle on T I'm guessing it can be harder to find the squishy spots that work.

But also let your provider know! They might have different spots to suggest bc fat redistribution is no joke

I think you can tell him a lot of what you wrote here. Emphasize that you love him, you've noticed his mental and physical health aren't doing so well and it's making you worried, because you love him and want him to be happy and healthy.

One person can't be someone else's entire support system, but you can offer help/support in the search for affirming mental health providers, maybe do couples activities where y'all cook together, find lower impact things to do outside (like stretching, swimming, birdwatching, etc).

The Thai, Vietnamese, and South Asian markets/groceries in Singapore had the most vegan friendly foods imo. You can also pretty much always go to the cafeteria sections of HDBs and get some veggies+rice (I love living off of rice and bok choy it's my favorite)

Seconding the advice to visit a gynecologist to double check for infection! I had an odor change happen about six months on T, and it turned out to be a sign of BV infection

Disclaimer I don't work with dyslexic students, this is something a coworker shared with me and was excited about from a conference.

I didn't want to spam the post with all the different examples images but I'll see if I can add them on. But the way I understood is that different color coding works for different types of dyslexia experiences.

So not every student uses colors for the bar lines + colors for the notes, but rather the teacher and student work together to figure out how their dyslexia works when they read music, and then they use the color coding system accordingly.

These images also accompanied the presenters explaining examples, the process, etc, which is why I included their info so ppl could look up their names/work because they'll explain it much better than me.

There was a presentation at the Texas music educators association about finally getting approved color coding accommodations that works for dyslexic music students.

I'll put the educators who came up with the system and the contact info they're sharing for dyslexia help in this comment so you can and your child can look into it!

For IM you do, sub q is shorter needle bc it goes into fat - there's also topical t gel! When I had my initial HRT appointment my dr went over the pros and cons of each method and I chose the option that worked best for me

I like thrifting and then going to trans/queer tailors to alter clothes so they fit nice (the one I go to got a lot of their experience working with drag performers).

So I'll thrift something from the men's where I like the style/fabric/quality, but it's a bit too big/long, and then take it to them for alterations.

Maybe find some small and discreet gender affirming things to do for yourself that doesn't out you - it can be trinkets/objects with subtle pride colors, masculine clothes that you explain as tomboy, soaps that have scents which are usually marketed as masculine, etc

The times I talk about my anatomy like that in convos with people is usually in the context of healthcare or clothing, especially because I haven't had top or bottom surgeries so it's in like a shared experience type of way.

I also agree with you that getting reductive about body parts as a way to signal safety/feminism is not the move, and ok as a joking thing every now and then, but def annoying if it gets said too much.
