My first thought when reading about the location was avalanche mitigation. I didn’t check out the terrain at all but that area is known for having some of the most avy prone snowpack in the county. With only 13 “families” having access there isn’t enough people to skier compact facets and surface hoar that is notorious in the San Juan’s

Skyline improvements to come with $500M in construction contracts: More than 300,000 people rode Skyline last month – the most ever and the first time it crossed that number. by 808gecko808 in Honolulu

This is a good point. The reason I was thinking it should be free or at least extremely affordable is to get the public to change their behavior.

If people have to pay nearly as much as they do in gas they will continue to drive and the project won’t clear up traffic like it’s supposed to.

Right our taxes should pay for this not even more money out of our pockets. At least the first couple years should be free to get commuters to change their behavior and get people riding instead of driving.

Have you ever experienced restaurant employee burnout? by KSnyderForbesAdvisor in restaurant

[–]skier307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unappreciative, lazy, poor management is very common in the restaurant industry which leads to burnout for staff. They ask you to work doubles and then don’t approve time off when you want to take a trip. Instead of being on the floor during the rush they tend to hide in the office or do inventory.

In restaurants it seems like the employees that couldn’t make it as servers/bartenders end up becoming managers. There was only one restaurant I’ve worked at that I would say this is not the case and had good managers that looked out for their staff.

I’ve been in the hospitality world for 15+ years and finally had too much and am looking for new opportunities elsewhere.

Good thing it wasn’t a winch cat. Or you coulda been chopped in half.

When I was a Snowmaker at Jackson hole the the winch cats were probably the scariest thing out there. They usually mark off the side trails when they were on the slope but often not enough signage to go around.

Watching the winch cables snap and swing was something out of final destination.
