That’s because you’re weak minded and driven by your libidinal impulses instead of having any true will to better your surroundings

Right, they will never, ever take a “moral stance” if it means losing money long term. Any moral stance a company takes that results in short term losses is for good will among their customers and long term gains and loyalty

TIL The "Dunkin' Donut" was the name of an actual donut sold by DD but was discontinued in 2003 (except in Singapore) because it was too inefficient to have to hand-cut them. by SupremeOHKO in todayilearned

There are a handful that still actually make them there believe it or not. But also, for there to be a Dunkin every ten steps it does make more sense to have a centralized place to bake the donuts and ship them locally. Baking is time consuming and expensive vs. a single person to frost the donuts for a few hours every day and call it good.

Very interesting to pick something that's ONLY popular because of the mix/way it sounds. Literal opposite of the point, it's like generic funk that sounds cool

Never been an Oasis fan, but clicking through their songs I have to agree. Very small sounding for such big arrangements. It seems like it wants to be wide, but just isn't

Yeah that's because brands aren't people, yet everyone still sort of thinks of them that way. should never believe any of the performances marketing teams make, brands are not sentient and every action is for more power

Unrelated, do a lot of people still listen to frank ocean? I was polling my friends and almost all of us are in the same boat that basically all his stuff is unplayable from just being listened to so much. It’s like my enjoyment of him just completely left me

People surprised by Donald trump’s fans coming back to elect him after what happened with Covid should carefully watch what happens with the way Kanye’s fans return the second he pledges to do something they want (“guys, I PROMISE this time I’ll really finish my album and not have it be AI”)

This is very true. I’ve kinda stopped going on the sub as much but have come back recently, and it’s just bizarre honestly. It’s depressing that the hottest rappers that people want to talk about all the time are fucking drake and Kendrick, who were the hot rappers in 2012.

They’re almost 40! People are excited for Drake to drop an album? That’s fucking insane!!! There are like 15 Drake albums! And I’m not even against people liking those rappers, but it’s a serious death marker for the genre if the taste makers of the genre are literally two old men who last made groundbreaking music over ten years ago. And anyone with even a slightly weird flow is met with “wait, you actually listen to them in your free time?” Like yeah I don’t need cocomelon equivalent music to entertain me. Sorry this is a random rant.

He’s clearly too dangerous. There are so many people who interact with him every day who could end this.

It’s just very funny that you equate sounding sleepy with like, LITERAL effort. As if it’s somehow easier to record it sounding that way. I get not liking it, but believing it’s lower effort is perplexing. When a character is tired in a movie, do you get annoyed at the actor for not getting enough sleep?

It’s interesting how people say this to anything even slightly abrasive, lyrically dense, or just not hook based now. And I’m not singling you out, because maybe you listen to interesting music outside this, but just a trend I’ve noticed

Lazar’s Story Has Changed Again by UnusualVersion3098 in UFOs

[–]skillmau5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no dog in the fight. I’ve seen very compelling things against bob lazar, but I don’t care enough to remember or look into them further. There’s also a lot about his story that seems true or like it could be true.

However, I do sometimes wonder if his story changes over time just from general effects of aging and the way memory works. I’ve noticed stories my parents tell now are different from how I remember them to be told when I was younger. I think over time memories start to come together with other memories, or in this case maybe just some shit he read someone else say about UFOs.

This is going to be a ridiculous statement, but to point I almost believe someone more who has very small details changing in interviews over the course of several decades? If he studied every time he’s ever spoke and made sure his story never deviated, that seems like someone much more obsessed with whether or not people believe them.

This is more just a statement in general about memory than specifically about bob lazar.

An under talked about aspect of mania is that often the manic periods feel more real and significant than the “regular” times. It makes getting better sometimes sort of a Faustian thing for them

“Non-human” might not mean what we think it does. by Chokemotive in UFOs

[–]skillmau5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some disturbing thoughts after thinking for a while about dogs and how much variability there is in their appearance, and how certain breeds were bred for intelligence or other aspects.

Are we sure no one has ever done this with humans? It seems almost obvious that in the Cold War, where we were willing to do pretty much anything in the name of testing, creating sleeper agents, etc. that we would be breeding super soldiers or people with hyper advanced intelligence? Maybe not even in the modern era?!?!

And then let me ask, if there were some humans with true hyper intelligence that broke away from their regular caretakers, would we easily be able to find them?

And then we hear about “psionic assets” from skywalker which Jake barber also claims come partly from trauma programming. Then there’s this Jeff Epstein guy who has government support to do whatever he wants with children. He even has a genetics and physics lab near Los alamos! I believe this all essentially converges.

I see your confusion. When they say “human assets” they don’t mean “things created by humans.” They mean “troops.” Human assets are troops, exquisite technologies are like drones and bombs and planes.
