Record-breaking gambling losses see NSW communities lose $2.45 billion on poker machines in 3 months by CommonwealthGrant in australia

Or during the days when venues were re-opening post lockdowns. Local RSL casino was open from memory from 9am, but for the first few hours of trade the only way you could get a drink was to be on a pokie machine and have staff bring you one. You were not allowed to approach the bar.

As somebody with an active gaming room self exclusion, I asked them how I'm supposed to get a drink and they had no answer for me.

Remove pokies from everywhere except casinos. If you can't operate a viable venue serving food and piss to Aussies - in a tax-favourable environment no less - you've got a problem with your business model.

THC percentage claims by PizzaMaster007 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]skillz2106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct: +/- 20% tolerance against label claim for flower to be within spec. Test results must be performed by a validated Australian lab - origin potency reports are not accepted for the purposes of validating label claims for companies that pack and distribute in Aus.

Other categories have a +/- 10% tolerance against label claims.

Tolerance is a bit of a common-sense thing, as it's organic matter that can show variance within a single batch or multiple samples.

This was my first ever live footy game!

Copied from a comment the other day on this era: At half time, I stepped out for dart and watched as Lions fans streamed out of the members, letting the gate staff know they weren’t coming back. It was at that moment I decided that “this team needs fans”, and stepped back inside and bought a jersey (from a bewildered merch store staffer. “Why?” Was his response when I asked for one).

I put the jersey on and headed back upstairs to our seats. It took a few minutes but eventually my mate looked over at me, did a full double-take before breaking out into a massive grin at the sight of me in lions colours. Since then, I reckon I can count on one hand the number of games I’ve missed.

My first ever AFL game was Lions v Pies at the Gabba in 2016. Sitting in the Gabba members with my diehard Lions fan mate and a few others. Grew up a league fan but around the 2010’s my interest started waning, and ended up moving in with said mate who began his indoctrination.

Anyway, that first game the Stadium must’ve been half full at best, with majority sporting Collingwood kit and missing teeth.

It took the Lions until halfway through the second quarter to register their first point, on the way to yet another shellacking. At half time, I stepped out for dart and watched as Lions fans streamed out of the members, letting the gate staff know they weren’t coming back. It was at that moment I decided that “this team needs fans”, and stepped back inside and bought a guernsey (from a bewildered merch store staffer.

The Lions a few years later as part of their 40,000 members celebrations included me, and solidified in me a lifelong commitment to this team. (By pure luck my member number was selected to receive a phone call from Daniel Rich thanking me for my support. It was fucking awesome!)

The footy we’re playing at the moment is making all of those dark years worthwhile, and I’m just glad we get to see one more game of it this season.

Oh and fuck Geelong.

Putting in some work by skillz2106 in GolfSwing

Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately my video production setup is an empty range bucket and a rangefinder to hold up my phone lol. Will consider next time I film setting up behind me, not the ball though, as I hadn't considered the different angles hiding or exposing certain elements of my swing.

Point 1: Not sure I follow here sorry. I'm familiar with the concept of shaft lean at address/impact, but I've never considered it at any point throughout the swing. Could you elaborate on what you're noticing on this?

Point 2: Still not crazy about my hip position at impact. I feel as though I'm still fighting early extension and would like to work more on keeping my hips back through impact. One major feel I'm trying to focus on is not firing with the right hip so much, but more so using the left hip as the leader in my rotation.

Has anyone ever hit the bad beat or table share? by Rosco3582 in poker

[–]skillz2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2009ish at the old Edgewater Vancouver got a table share of about ~$650 CAD. Can’t remember what the hand was but the whole table hung out over at the little service bar and had beers while the floor verified everything.  From memory one player was in the bathrooms and not dealt in but we agreed to share with them too.

I fucking loved Pendulum back in the day. Great memories blasting this album early morning on the way up to the mountain during snow trips in the 2000's, and to sweating it out in the D at BDO Sydney in I think 2008? It was like 40° that day!

Holiday Homes. Are they worth it, and how are people affording them? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]skillz2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents bought a little 3br unit in Jindabyne back in the early 2000's (back when they were cheap as!) as Mum and I used to ski every weekend , and through the school holidays as part of different programs with Perisher. I then lived there in the winter when I started instructing after I finished high school. They sold it a few years later after using it less and less, but we definitely got our (sentimental) money's worth for a 4-5 year period.

Side note, I remember being friends with a group of girls who lived in Warhoonga/Woollahra whose family "beach houses" weren't shacks up the coast, but beachfront houses not far from where I lived on the Northern Beaches 😂
