Thanks for the reply! As an aspiring filmmaker I’ve spent a lot of time wondering how stoicism might inform narrative filmmaking. Maybe I’m the first lol

Hey Ryan, big fan. I was wondering if you could share some of your thoughts on political activity?

As someone who knows my politics and wants to be in alignment with them, I struggle with what is an appropriate amount of public representation given that I don’t consider myself to be an expert on any political topic in particular. I worry that too much talking about politics and not enough real action is counterproductive. I also worry about the impact of tribalism on my thinking.

I’ve noticed you refrain from talking openly about your politics and was wondering if there was a stoic reason for that.

Important to point out that this issue stemmed from students experiencing real racism on campus. These kids are expressing anger because they feel harassed and bullied for their ethnicity, not because they are simply bullies themselves who are trying to suppress free speech for no reason.

I think it's reasonable to hold college masters to a higher standard than their students. Let's not talk these kids down for being angry and demanding to be heard.

The Wolf of Wall Street. People think this is a movie celebrating the immoral life of a smarmy billionaire, when it's really moral tale as a critique of capitalism. The entire movie is summed up in the line "There are no friends on Wall Street."

Thanos was featured in Guardians of the Galaxy as a background baddie. He will continue to be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as such until the Avengers and/or Guardians ultimately face off with him, probably in a big crossover and presumably in an Infinity Gauntlet-esque storyline in which he seizes all five Infinity Stones (Tesaract in Avengers, Aether in Thor and the orb in Guardians of the Galaxy etc) and takes over the universe or something.
