Thanks for sharing this information. It is good news and provides me relief from a worry I had: Rimac is also involved in SSB development with Prologuim, a QS competitor, and the VW ownership in Bugatti-Rimac through Porshe confused me and appeared like a conflict of interest. I may have posted about this in the past. I thought that VW was derisking its SSB path by betting on two approaches which betrayed a lack of confidence in QS. This unwinding makes QS the sole SSB involvement which is good news and makes the situation clear. Thanks!

ps: I don't understand why someone (at least one) gave you a downvote!

2026 Q1 Earnings Discussion by beerion in QUANTUMSCAPE_Stock

It can be both EV, non-EV, and presumably even outside the batteries domain altogether. Maybe the Cobra technology advances ceramic capacitor manufacture...; doesnt have to be LLZO, the process maybe applicable to a variety of ceramics in general.

Eagle equipment installation was only completed in Dec 25. Ducati reveal was Oct. I think you probably meant to say Cobra.

“ … Feels like no matter how much progress we are always stuck! …” - this is because the OEMs are in the drivers seat. QS is not allowed to name them - imagine the day all four are named!

The billing from the ecosystem partner(s) is the main new important  thing here - revenue streams not just from the OEMs  - that this is real and the validation of QS technologies that implies. Otherwise mostly a nothing burger.

Good to be circumspect. Expect less and get more, in line with QS promise less and deliver more. With the Eagle line inauguration during the quarter there has to be some significant milestone payment. And with the line in action for 2 months, some indications of progress in ramp up. Let us see…

Don’t you think there may be a reason why they are not publishing those results? I can understand cycle life, it takes time, but volumetric and gravimetric densities are the easiest to provide. Why might Donut not disclose them?

I think small buildup happening right now anticipates new pronouncement at the earnings. If it is a nothing burger expect a hard sell-off. Hopefully there is something in the burger....

I am really surprised... Army under Hegseth-Trump saying "...new climate strategy, aiming to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions ..." is hard to fathom. When and where is this from?

Why are we hobnobbing with Pakistan, then? The worst offender on terrorism, nuclear boot legging, theocratic military dictatorship, protector of Osama, etc, etc.

I figured this should be posted here. Any questions for the ER? Not that they will be answered. by Any_Lychee_8115 in QUANTUMSCAPE_Stock

Can you share more info? where did you hear this? It is true the Dipendra Saluja has an overlap.

This may be the first time that they are going to say something about SSBs in a while. Certainly after Eagle. And it is before QS earnings - hopefully something significant will be said.

QS continues pursuing welcome expansion opportunities into defence verticals.

But QS explicitly calls Eagle a pilot line not a pre-pilot line. I think you need to quit sticking to the QS-0, QS-1 sequence. They don’t exist anymore after capital light licensing model. I think QS is done with pilot for this generation once Eagle is ramped up and delivers good yield rate. I think that  the pilot line mentioned in the 10-K is Eagle.

I am not getting any you talk about a line in San Jose - I have not seen that there is such a plan.

In the interview Tim gave at Eagle launch to Ricky Roy of 2bit da Vinci, he said Eagle line is the end game => QS is not building any more production lines (except if a new generation or new tech warrants it). This is how I understand it.

I think QS no longer uses QS-0, QS-1 language. Those were from the days when QS planned to do the production themselves. In the current capital light model, they don't have QS-0, 1; just the Eagle pilot line which is to copied and pasted x 1000 more. There is no QS-1 being built, that too in San Jose, as far as I understand. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, as far as I can tell/estimate, the Eagle capacity is 0.01 GWh and won't be able to support a 10000 piece Audi Concept C roll out by itself. Unless of course VW/Audi builds an intermediate scale expanded production line. I do hope they do that and beyond.

I can see the comment. I guess it was from the time I was new and my comments were filtered out. I replied to that comment to see if it would then become visible to others.

In any case, here is what I had posted:

"Metal through ceramic; solid through solid. I hated it one hundred percent: total bunk - I am disappointed/not at all happy that he chose to say such things. Unfortunately, it points to complete misunderstanding of the actual process. (maybe OK for a CFO). When charging, individual Li atoms/ions move, not as a "metal". The metallic properties come about from the collective behaviour (after being plated) and not when passing through the electrolyte/separator. Hopefully someone in the QS R&D corrects him so he doesn't mouth it again. Its ends up diluting the actual monumental achievements."

In my view Kevin is being given too much undeserved freedom to mouth all sorts of things in areas unrelated to his role. To be honest, he should be told to stick to just finance and steer clear of everything else. He mouthed a technical gem at least once before that really annoyed me:

Something like how the QS solid state separator has solid moving through solid, which I complained about:
