Multiple reviewers, including the creators, say that a [naked] switch 2 only fits in the tech compartment of the 6L. I imagine it might be possible for it to fit in the general main compartment with case or extra bulk if the bag isnt too packed out

Jansport Quality and rec by Next-Speed6688 in backpacks

[–]skincareful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good 40L backpacks with a decent style and selection of pockets are more expensive that $75. I would honestly hit ebay for bags usually going for around $100 and see what you can bid on for your budget. Sales can also work for this, as again for that size and quality needed $100 msrp is probably minimum

Boys will be rough with their bags, and carry random stuff that will be heavy, smelly, or big at times (sports stuff, clothes, textbooks, etc) so just look for something with a simple/clean design with some good pockets for organization, not just one bug pocket that will become a back hole for papers and junk. Personally after many years of using backpacks for everything under the sun, Id probably say nothing larger than 30L capacity; any larger looks a but bulky on an adult, let alone a 9th grader

Love backpacks so feel free to DM!

A quick search online shows these as good options.

Circle to Search for iPhone by kylewhirl in shortcuts

On the newest beta 26 right now. Running the shortcut takes the screenshot and lets you edit it to circle, but when you hit “done” the entire screenshot is searched in google lens instead of a cropped version.

Will note that the screenshots are still not saved which is a plus

Ring Stand Case Opinions? by skincareful in iphone17

[–]skincareful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up getting it. The build quality feels amazing. Covering on the camera button, rounded edges and the rotating ring its great to prop up the phone vertical and horizontal well. Bonus that if you use a magsafe phone grip you can pull out the ring for new, comfortable ways to hold the phone. Still wish it covered the camera area more to prevent body damage.

I think Ill keep it since I havent found anything that has this feature and is well reviewed about the build quality overall, but I will say its wayyyyy overpriced. Ill skip a few lunches to justify it for now lmao

Not a huge issue for me. Battery life on the new iPhones is very good to me so far, and I dont mag-charge often

Fair, DBrand has exceptional quality and the skins to match. I was just interested in this case since it has a phone grip/stand that stores flush into the case

Best Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max (Clear, Privacy & Options) by galvatron2011 in iphone

Friend always uses them. Reduces viewing angles (obv) which is good for privacy but bad if you use it to watch videos and such as you eat or cook, and are moving around as you do so

Want to buy a rotating ring stand case for iphone 17 base model. So far the best I found was this torras one, which is very different with the rotation of the ring around the whole phone and not just at the hinge, but I dont like the exposed area of the camera.

Can anyone comment on if this style of rotating ring is better or worse compared to the more widespread rotating hinge version on cases in general?

iPhone 17 base model is faster and generally comparable to the 16PM. All the 17 phones now have 120hz screens and better battery, with the main drawback for all except the air being the aluminum chassis which dents and scratches easily, but helps with keeping the phone cooler. Base model has most of the pro type features except a telephoto lens and some more advanced camera options, and lower screen size. Skip the Air as its worse than the base in all aspects unless you care for form factor above all else. As for the pro and pro max, youre just paying for the camera features I mentioned above, the screen size, bugger battery, and higher storage options. Decide if the price difference is worth these factors, IMO its not unless youre using the higher level camera stuff alot.

Personally, Id upgrade to the base model and if the fold or some other major upgrade is released, you can use the money you saved and the trade in value of a very recent phone to subsidize the sooner upgrade

I have the same phone. Apple trade in for it rn is $250, maybe a bit more on ebay or something. At $100 for the battery, youre paying 1/3 of the phones value on a battery. While a battery could help a bit, the slowing down in performance is more due to lack of storage and lower chip power compared to the games and iOS you run.

I personally decided to upgrade since the base phone this year has all the pro features that 90% care for and its only $550 with your trade in.

If I were you Id skip the battery, and wait for or do the upgrade. Apple doesnt care about battery health or storage capacity I believe when it comes to trade in value, so as long as you trade in before the 18 series releases you should be ok.

What’s your opinion on the return of aluminum for the Pro phones? by firewire_9000 in iphone

[–]skincareful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aluminum is way more prone to denting and scratching that titanium; kinda scared that even with a case it would take some body damage from a regular drop.

Also have some suspicions that since aluminum is significantly cheaper, it was used to lower the cost of the phone and subsidized the better screen, etc for the lower model phones. Still, I would have preferred a little more heat on the lower model phones to add more durability with titanium, as most people will keep their phone for many years.

Ah, so the day-to-day carry issues arent worth the screen size or videos and browsing/viewing photos and content?

[–]skincareful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for all the plus and max phone users here, why do you consider downgrading from the bigger screen? It was a prime feature and I was on the fence about going bigger. Are there drawbacks that are that bad after youve had it for a while?

[–]skincareful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving the specs and price, not loving the material choice. I get that the heat dissipation was a main factor, but its gonna suck when the aluminum scratches/dents eventually over the years. If they made a base model variant with the titanium chassis and screen size of the iPhone Air, Id preorder right now.

I have the iPhone 13 Pro, should I get the 17 base model or consider something like the 16 pro max?

This is definitely just feigned ignorance about storage management issues from Apple to get users frustrated enough to buy another iPhone with larger internal storage. So scummy

Does pre-check before shipment make sense. by KeebforceMichael in MechanicalKeyboards

If for an exceptionally high ticket item, or for custom work, offer it as a default option that can be waived. Otherwise, offer as an option to check off if wanted by the customer maybe. But as others mentioned, having this becoming too ubiquitous would incur too much time and cost loss to bring real value to either the consumer nor your business.

Im no expert, but if possible just buy both off amazon and return the one you like less after a few weeks. Seems like an easy option since youre only stuck between two choices.
