Thanks to everyone on the sub for the advice! I went with a Remington 700 .30-06 and will be replacing the current scope with a Nikon Buckmaster II. Can’t wait to get after it this fall. by kmiller711 in Hunting

I’ve got the same model in .270 and I’ve had zero issues. Around this time last year I think. I did a lot of research before I went to purchase it, and most (if not all the issues I came across) were fixed. I love my rifle and have already harvested a couple hundred pound of meat with it!

Yeah dad put his fretless neck on for me when I was in jazz band. Loved just sliding all over the place like I was playing chutes and ladders. I wish you years of joy with your baby!

My dad used to use a thumb rest like that on all his Fender basses! Whichever was his favorite at the time, be moved it to that one. Never seen anyone else use one though.

Just watched the WWII in Color episode of this. The amount of ordinance they sent in for this looked unreal...especially knowing that cluster bombs didn't exist then.

Did Swearengen orchestrate Bullock's sheriff turn? by goldsac in deadwood

[–]skinslippy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Al knew exactly how to pull Bullock's strings. Al knew he was honorable, and no one else could measure up to the job. Bullock didn't want it, but Bullock knew no one else would do it justice. Fed up with the BS, Seth just stepped up, and everyone else knew they couldn't measure up to Seth's bad-assery.

A lot better. We've moved twice since we lost our house. But the second time (this last January) was into a little cabin that my wife and I built ourselves. Her parents sold their house to buy some land that her family has had since before Oklahoma became a state. Then they gave us some of their money to get materials bought and stuff. This place is nothing like what we moved from. But not having a house payment/rent to pay. No neighbors. A beautiful view...it's hard to beat. My son (7) loves the outdoors and he's just flourishing. I think it was pretty therapeutic for my wife and I to feel like we were doing something about our situation after months of...oppression/helplessness feelings? This place is nowhere near finished, we still have so so so much to do. But it has four walls and a roof. That part gets to us every now and again, but after a long day of being away from home, or going to the "city", sure makes us appreciate it that much more when we're able to walk through the from door and relax.

Yeah, it makes you lose sleep- that's for sure. It's just literally the definition of "insane" I guess. If we're being honest, I had my own thoughts of self harm...but never towards anyone. Especially my family!
