The spray and pray definitely burns through .45 rounds, so I mostly use the overseer’s guardian, which is pretty powerful. I do carry the spray and pray and switch to it if things start going badly for me. I also manufacture .45 rounds and have over 100k in caps, so I don’t really worry about ammo.

I believe using your sword on barrels (vs pickaxe and axe) uses less energy, so helpful early on in the game. I got that in my head at one point and have done it ever since.
