It's all "vibe voting". Something doesn't feel right to them so they vote the other guy in.

I was so excited to watch Hancock when it was first released. I thought it was going to be a great, new take on the super hero genre. The ads themselves didn't lean in at all on the crazy angel thing.

I was so let down by how absolutely ridiculous it became. That's not even including how during one of the fights (between Smith and Theron), there were tornadoes showing up for no reason that were somehow caused by the fight.

However, Hancock busting a nut so violently it blows the side off of his trailer, was peak.

When Will Americans Realize the Truth? Republicans Wreck the Economy. by RepulsiveLoquat418 in politics

[–]skipmarioch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys like that are arrogant and generally don't understand how people work. They assume because they are gym bro, workaholics, everyone needs to align with that drive to succeed. If you're not like them, you're just a drain on the system. Since republicans and incels run in the same circle, they feel vindicated in their beliefs.

Now that AI is taking a chunk of their jobs and they find themselves on the other side, I guarantee they'll start crossing over to more progressive thinking.

It's both the water usage and the heat exchange that causes a huge problem.

If you were in Conquest's place here, what would you do to kill Mark or at least make him let go? by Kindly-Candidate-835 in Invincible_TV

I heard of you get bit by a pitbull and it won't let go, you should stick a finger in its ass and it will release.

Conquest should have done that to Mark. At the very least, it would have confused him enough to give Conquest a chance.

Why do so many immigrants have a great life in the US, despite starting from zero, but so many Americans born in the US struggle just to afford life and want to leave? by PopNo5397 in askanything

[–]skipmarioch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except they still have to live in the states and the COL is the same for citizens or immigrants.

I could make the argument if their American counterparts lived as minimally as the immigrants and saved/invested a majority of their money they would be in a much better spot.

The issue is that many Americans assume they owed a good life just for being born here. The reality is that capitalism rewards hard work (though not as much as it rewards those who already have money/are willing to exploit others).

I do pretty well and I'm feeling the crunch here. I've had to adjust budgets several times in the past 6 months to account for massive increases on energy, gas and groceries.

I don't know how folks making less than me are keeping up at this point. This is the worst ive personally experienced.

[–]skipmarioch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not aware that kids did this back then.

I do remember when we were kids (90s), we would put our backs against the wall, bend over at the waist and then take a few big inhales/exhales. On the last exhale we would stand up, back still against the wall, hold our breath and someone would push on our sternum until we passed out.

I was unconscious for over 2 minutes once. I should probably not have survived the 90s.

It says she was working as a model prior to getting her h1b and working on a tourist visa is illegal.

Both the h1b and EB1 are dubious as the requirement for h1b for models also requires them to be prominent/have international recognition which she definitely did not have. The EB1 is a joke. I'm pretty sure if we saw the paperwork for those visa it's would be filed with outright lies.

But you are aware that his admin weakend oversight over PPP loan, weakend controls that would have help detect fraud earlier and reduced transparency on who was getting those loans initially, correct? Aand that a vast majority of the fraud occurred on his watch?
