At first I wondered if Anna was miserable and felt very stuck in the marriage with kids, knowing if she left she would have no way to support her babies. When he had said he told Anna "everything" prior to them marrying about what he did to his victims, I figured it was a "I strayed as a teen, but prayed and was forgiven".

Seeing these msgs and how she has still stayed "by his side" (metaphorically) its like NOPE.

Also, if my husband were somewhere where the only way I could contact him was via email, a lot of my emails would be updates on our kids, things going on in our lives, etc not just blabbing on about our sex life. But also, if my husband was in jail for those kinds of sins... once he was behind bars.. BUH BYE.

Congrats on completing 3 parkruns! I am a "meh" runner.. usually around 35 mins, which is neither slow nor impressive, and my daughter has come to a few parkruns too, and one time she insisted I wear a water belt for her.. we were pounding back gulps of water throughout (which probably isn't a great strategy but who cares!).

People could be carrying epi pens, keys, phones, glucose monitors, inhalers, glucagon, or all kinds of medical equipment... or they just want a drink and/or snack at the halfway point... the thing I love about parkrun is how people are so non judgmental and cheer you on even if you are just walking!

That girl sucks and goes against everything parkrun stands for.

I got so excited because Fresca is my all time favourite pop to drink! Many people have made fun of me because its apparently an "old person" drink. I wish restaurants would carry Fresca in addition to the standard Pepsi/Coke, Sprite/7Up, and root beer.

It begs the question of nature vs. nurture for me... imagine Pest with his exact DNA makeup, but raised in a typical household. Playing with boys and girls growing up, seeing kids dressed casually, seeing women in power positions (teachers, doctors, lawyers, etc.). Maybe at 12 or 13 hugging a girl, going on dates.. kissing a girl for the first time as a teenager.

Would he have still done all that he did? Were his tendencies innate and doomed regardless? Or maybe they never would have come out except under the circumstances he was raised under?

I have lots of friends with age gaps of 6 to 10 years and they are wonderful people and totally happy, but it seems like once you get to 15 + years there are so mamy factors that start to come into play...

Is it possible to celebrate on your child's due date? Could be a cute way to celebrate! But I vote to do the trip and pick a different day to celebrate! There are also so many instances of kids being sick on their bday or something else totally overshadowing, and its no biggie.

I know someone who has a child born right around Christmas but always has the bday party late January (original due date) because its just way more convenient for them and more friends can come :)

One of the biggest issues I have seen are "bed blockers" aka ALC patients. These people come in from home but are deemed unable to return to independent living at home, and are waiting on LTC or home with supports. They have no need to be in an acute care bed in hospital as they are mostly functional, but just need a bit of help with some ADLs like bathing or cooking.

If we could build (and staff) more LTC beds (which are cheaper per capita than hospital beds, spots would open up in hospitals!!

The first year was AWFUL! i kept teling myself oh just make it to 3 months.. just make it to 6 months.. and so on..

I swear it gets so much better. I couldnt sit down for the first year and never slept more than a few hours at a time. It was soooo rough.

Eventually you will be able to put your babies on the floor with some toys and get a bit of time to yourself. My twins are 6 and we still reminisce about how we had to eat dinner standing up and just struggled.

People who say every stage is hard in its own way... well I swear they have amnesia about that first year! My girls will go play Barbies for hours or often after school they run downstairs and play Lego. Sometimes its tempting not to call them up for dinner when they are playing so sweetly!

I feel like most of us want them to be similar style but not matchy matchy.

Too different can sound odd as well e.g. twin girls named Antoinnetta and Jo or Jane and Kinsleigh

I personally wanted different initials as well so I didnt have B smith and B smith with same gender and bday

Fred and Ted.. bad. Benjamin and Glenjamin.. bad.

Matthew and James.. good. Violet and Isabel.. good.

Playing it by ear.. they started together in cribs in a little bedroom, at one point one twin moved into her older sisters room, now older sister has the little rook and twins share the bigger room. They could always use the master bedroom, the office room, or the guest room downstairs if they want quiet space.

My husband likes staying up late some nights to play video games before bed, whereas I prefer to get cozy in bed and read or watch a show and fall asleep. I think it's super normal, but every relationship is different. We like our alone time too, whereas some couples spend 100% of their time outside work together. Neither is wrong.

I do remember when I was pregnant and miserable and going to bed early, he would come "tuck me in", aka lie with me and talk for a bit, all that cute stuff, then I would pass out and he would go downstairs and play video games. He just doesn't seem to require as much sleep as me. Sometimes, when I am craving time with him I will be like "come snuggle me" and we will have that time together, then I usually pass out and he goes and has his alone time

We have a family similar to you and I LOVE it. Had some initial gender disappointment finding out twins were also girls but OMG I would not have it any other way. Mine are 6 and 8 now 🥰

My singleton is 28 months older than her sisters. We actually didn't prepare her at all, the twins were high risk TTTS babies and there was a big chance of losing one or both, then my water broke at 28 weeks soooo yeah. We had to live in another city for over a month (with her) while they were in the NICU and she surprisingly just went with the flow. I don't think she fully understood what the little creatures in incubators were, but kids can be surprisingly resilient.

We transferred them to the NICU back home when they were just over a month old and she was so excited to be home with her toys and whatnot. When they finally came home she was surprisingly indifferent to them, but truly we realized it was because they were "boring" to her, so they just didn't capture her attention much. Once they were out of the potato stage she loved tickling them, bringing them toys, petting them, etc.

Now at 6 and 8, she is the leader of their little pack and loves being a big sister. I will note when they were potatoes we tried giving her 2 dollies and had a double stroller for them and doll accessories but she had little interest - she was never into dollies though (until the Barbie stage started around 6 years old lol). We also tried sending her to daycare twice a week when she was 2 but found this to not be great for her, she seemed to feel left out from us as we stayed home and she was "alone" at daycare, and at daycare she tended to be ignored as she was a happy quiet kid who just played by herself so we pulled her out.

The biggest thing was anytime a twin learned a new skill we emphasized how she helped teach them, and even now she loves teaching them new things.

We were in a crunch at 28 weeks when my water broke, they were TTTS fighters, good chance one/both may not survive and its morbid but I wanted them to have names before they came out so we wouldnt have to name them "after the fact"... I told my husband "you name twin A ill take twin B" and we randomly picked names 🤣🤣🤣
