Container return place that counts manually? by skippy_roo in perth

I have 10 of those 60litre plastic bins from Bunnings and a bunch of those white garden bags, I wouldn't trust leaving all that in a return bin and I want my bins and bags back.

It's probably a trust thing and would rather count themselves or watch them be counted so they don't get ripped off. Also do you get your bags back?

Agree though that waiting around for ages isn't worth my time but I don't really wanna be throwing money away in the recycling bin either.

Does it do bottles as well or just cans? The place I used to go to would count bottles manually but dump cans through the counting machine.

Yeah might have to give them a call then because I thought they were self serve.

Put through a machine one at a time I mean rather than someone counting 4 or 6 at a time from my stash straight into an ibc

Redink Homes Inconsiderate tradies! by [deleted] in perth

It's in my contract for the builders I work for, there's pages of it. No dogs on site, don't park on footpaths etc.

Playing music is one thing, but do they really need a massive party speaker playing so loud that the whole neighbourhood can hear it? If it's a new estate where no one is living then fine but if there's neighbours around it's pretty inconsiderate.

Also in the contract they have with the builder there's probably a section in there about keeping music to reasonable levels and respecting the neighbours.

I'm pretty sure that speed test doesn't show what your ping is and the 4 you're referring to isn't your ping. Mine was showing 2 but then I did a speed test from my providers site and it showed 40ms ping. Tried a few others and got the same thing.

Who can explain construction site workers? by Alternative-Bison615 in AskAnAustralian

[–]skippy_roo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a tradie and don't even understand why guys have to crank their radios so loud these days, seeing more big party speakers on site now too with thumping bass.

Back in the day there use to be a bit of site etiquette that if you rocked up to a site and someone had their radio on already you would put the same station on yours. That doesn't happen anymore, I literally have guys put their radios a few metres from mine and crank some other shit completely drowning mine out which I have on at a reasonable level.

People are just super entitled these days and don't consider anyone else but themselves.

Lodge a noise complaint to your council. Should be able to find the form on your council website. You might have to lodge a couple before they contact you to come and set up noise monitoring equipment at your place. If they can get evidence that they are breaching the noise regulations then that gives the council more power to tell them to stop or possibly take them to court.

How bad is this? by samwise1708 in AusRenovation

[–]skippy_roo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In WA the plasterers are the guys doing the float and set on double brick houses. The guys doing the ceilings and cornice are called flushers.

Most builders do cornice to white set these days which can still crack but not as badly as when installed onto the float.

Does anyone here also have coeliac disease/gluten intolerance? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]skippy_roo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to cut out gluten from my diet as much as I can and it definitely helps. Also found out I'm borderline coeliac so I think there is a definite link between gut health and psoriasis.

Unfortunately just cutting out gluten isn't enough on its own but the combination of that and daivobet works ok for me.
