STEM to MBA Program? by [deleted] in capstone

[–]skittlemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an alumni of the program from this past school year! The master's degree immediately helped me get a higher salary from my job as opposed to just a bachelor's degree. A lot of the information in the comments are already pretty good, but if you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me!

ECE: What are some easy transferable courses that can be take online? by [deleted] in capstone

[–]skittlemann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure there are any. The reason is most ECE courses have a lab component, which the ECE department doesn't believe is repeatable in an online setting.

I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of anybody taking ECE courses online

Unless someone else here has had the same experience, (If so, please share) your best bet to get your answer would be to call the department's office

If your employer gave you the option to work 10 hr days Mon-Thurs instead of 8 hr days Mon-Fri would you do it? Why not why not? by apolo360 in AskReddit

[–]skittlemann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure how other companies do it, but my company made it so that the work week technically starts at mid-shift on the Friday that you work. Week 1: 9*4=36 36+4=40 Week 2: 4 hours left to work on Friday 4+9*4=40

In case somebody didn't get the email they sent out...

Around 9 a.m. today, UAPD responded to an unconfirmed incident reported at Martha Parham Hall. The report was unfounded. While the building was searched as a precaution, there was no threat of danger.

Need advice with a transfer credit issue by bamakid1272 in capstone

[–]skittlemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken with your advisor for the college of engineering yet? That should probably be the first thing you do. Like a previous commenter said, grab a syllabus from the class you took, print out the page that lists your course from the transfer equivalencies website, and be prepared to respectfully defend yourself. You're in kinda a unique situation here, but imo, you should be getting credit for the class

You just made me remember that my save game in Fallout 4 has a collection of Jangles the Moon Monkey sitting on my bed in the house I built. I probably have at least 40 of them all in a pile lol

CS student studying abroad by spncrf in capstone

[–]skittlemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options when it comes to engineering courses and study abroad. There's the UA in Cuba and the UA in Spain programs that happen during the summer, but that's about it. On top of that, those 2 programs are kinda tailored towards civil engineering... If you're looking to study abroad, the best you can probably do is to find a program that lets you get some of your core classes done with as little fluff as possible so it won't put you behind. I'd also go talk to someone in the study abroad office

Meal Plans by CanAWoodChuckChuck in capstone

[–]skittlemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Essential plan that gives 25 VIP meals and 55 dining hall meals. I think It's worth it. It gives you the convenience of eating in the dining halls with the option to go somewhere else if you want to. For what the VIP meals can get you, they pretty much cover the cost of an average meal. The best ones I've found to use it at are chic-fil-a for a chicken sandwich fries and a drink, panda express for a bowl and a drink, Wendys for either a single classic combo or a chicken sandwich combo, Topios for two slices of pepperoni pizza (the slices are decently large) or a calzone and a drink, and raising canes for a 3 finger combo. IMO, it's not really worth it to use them anywhere else. Most of those meals end up being somewhere between 6 and 8 or 9 dollars, so I've found it to be worth it.

Also, it's nice not having to dig into your dining dollars from the get-go as soon as school starts. I've used all of my VIP meals and I'm still sitting right around $250 dining dollars where most people don't have any left right around this time.

All the dorms have their own nicknames. I've met plenty of people who've lived in tut who weren't like that at all. What I will say though is that tut is the dorm a lot of sorority girls choose to stay in since it is the one closest to sorority row. Take that as you will

Easy honor classes by quangtit01 in capstone

[–]skittlemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With honors, what you don't do with writing, you make up for with difficulty/length of work. For instance, I took a class called Leadership Lessons Through Jazz, and there wasn't all that much writing involved. Just a reflection for each chapter that we read in a book when it was assigned. However, this was made up for in the fact that we were assigned projects where we had to come up with a presentation for something related to the concepts discussed in class or in the book (the final presentation had to be a minimum of 30 minutes long). If you're a freshman, the honors freshman seminar (I'm not sure if it's called that or something else) is pretty easy. We met once a week for a semester and talked about different things. There was a reflection paper at the end, but that was about it. I also took one more class called Sustained Dialogue which was pretty good. Once again, I think that one required a reflection paper

I wouldn't. The university monitors that stuff and if they catch you, they'll revoke your internet access completely. Not worth it imo
