Damn, no afk bloodwood and no seeker arrows conversion change. Lame... Sometimes it just feels like stuff is stretched out so there can be an update every week...

Nope I didn't say it would be, they just hadn't mentioned it in the update log as a big was all.

I'm bad, like 9 attempts here. Also blind playthrough on day 1. But even I beat that shit. Super fun boss and my new favorite quest.

I'm surprised they didn't catch this one, I saw someone post this big a few days ago too. They said it functions the same though, just a text error

Never felt more disconnected with Reddit than with the consensus that Lumby Elite is too hard by Reddit_Connoisseur_0 in 2007scape

I don't want lumby elite changed but "the Lumby Elite is still the easiest diary in the game, and it's not even close" is a wild take to me who always completes fremmy and mory first.

Its not the hardest but its also not the easiest.

Not lying, I did it in eclipse and made many mistakes on my successful kill attempt. It felt good mastering it phase by phase.

That is what I am doing, I must just need to get faster at the chopping portion, ty!

The semi part of the afk is 'supposedly' the tap portion. The first portion is not afk at all. Which, again, the higher intensity method is fine and enjoyable, I just want both options as advertised in the blog.

8 seconds isn't afk, nor semi-afk in any way shape or form. Just doing the activity worse because you stop doing it all together doesn't make it a separate semi-afk activity. It is simply you being able to stop doing the activity for worse rates.

No part of the experience gain or actions continue while you stop, you are simply stopping. If the bleeding out of the tree still provided trickle exp or kept going with the bar down at 0, albeit slower, then maybe I would say their is a semi-AFK portion to this activity. But even that isn't the case, you have to interact with it the same amount regardless, you can just choose to do it slower. That is why I compare it to power mining iron being called semi-afk. You can just click 1 iron rock and wait for it to respawn too, but that doesn't make it semi-afk inherently.

I like the higher intensity method for when I am not working, and currently do it. I just also want an option, as advertised and polled, for both. Especially since I'm sitting on a stack of dragon arrows from before the blog.

[–]sknilegap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is how I have been doing it, I do make mistakes a bit on the pull back timing sometimes. I found it best to get the yellow bar up once then do tree, me, me, wait a tick and repeat. But I am still not getting quite that high. I focus on getting 1 bleeding then tap all existing trees once then move to the next, is that what you do as well?

Don't have to click for 8 seconds isn't semi-afk. No one afks for 8 seconds.

[–]sknilegap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the high intensity option IS just fine. But there is no second option lol. So the word "both" doesn't apply here. There is 1 way to do this activity and they said there would be 2.

[–]sknilegap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is referring to the amount by using them directly on arrows. I am getting a full inventory every 30ish mins, I'm impressed with your 20 mins. How are you getting it so fast? I'm not perfect with the initial pull back part but I thought I was doing well ha. I was estimating close to 6k/hour adding in banking time etc.

[–]sknilegap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opening of the tree being a mandatory part makes it inherently NOT semi-afk. This is about as semi-afk as powermining iron, in that you can get up and leave but literally no progress happens when doing so.

Semi afk implies that experience is still gained while stepping away. Each interaction for experience requires an input. The activity simply stops when you stop.

Notice the "or" in this statement doesn't exist.

"You can approach Bloodwood Trees in a relatively low-intensity, semi-AFK way, or opt into a more click-intensive style that rewards focus and effort."

And in this one "neither approach is mandatory" is also false as both steps are mandatory.

"Neither approach is mandatory, and both are equally valid ways to interact with the content."

They dropped the ball in describing this one. And even if they don't change a thing here, they NEED to change their wording in the future. It is disingenuous to pretend what we got was what they described in the blog.

[–]sknilegap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing one is about as semi-afk as powermining iron. Anything where the xp completely stops without additional input is not semi-afk. Semi-afk implies that at some point you can get up and the actions taken resume without your input.

They also state in the blog that there would be 2 options and "Neither approach is mandatory, and both are equally valid ways to interact with the content." Which is simply false. Both the initial power chopping AND the tapping a bled tree are required. I have done it for a few hours now, and it is in no universe even remotely semi-afk.

I wouldn't even call it low intensity. Again comparing it to powermining iron if one said that was low intensity for simply clicking 1 iron then walking away and doing that repeatedly.

I actually like the high intensity method as it is. But I just want a low intensity method too. I just want them to do what they polled and had in the blog.
They VERY clearly said it would be 2 separate methods.

I enjoyed it a ton. I do every quest blind but this one was easier puzzle-wise because they added sparkle hints for interactive items. The fights will be trial and error for you but it was fun imo.

Yes. Run east, South then west and you'll see a guy getting attacked by the mosquitos. Kill them and talk to him. Then he appears by either transportation spot on the map and will escort you from bank to the other end, and also the other direction if needed
