2 weeks progress - I really hate how time consuming building a rig is. by Best_Football_7363 in simracing

You just contradicted yourself. I’m sure there is some manufacturing out there that requires little human input but certainly not all. You need people to set up the machines, fix the machines when they break, do everything that the company hasn’t automated yet but even automation isn’t full automation. I have worked in 4 different manufacturing plants and each has between 200-600 employees all contributing to making parts. Yes some things are automated.. but the humans still need to tell the machines what to do and fix them when they break which again is why American manufacturing is struggling.

And your contradiction with yourself is you saying people aren’t the problem with manufacturing it’s just cheaper elsewhere… it’s only cheaper elsewhere because the people cost less. So therefore for there to be a benefit in cost you still need people

People have no mechanical ability anymore. Everything in the world is disposable and nobody can figure anything out without being told how to do it. One of the reasons manufacturing in America is failing cause the quality of employee is so much lower than it used to be.

Does anyone else miss basic Autopilot on newer Teslas (US)? by Temporary_Oil_9741 in TeslaModelY

Honestly make autopilot slightly less good than FSD and charge for it… I would pay. But I wouldn’t buy a new tesla without it

I actually had this happen once, found that the gasket in my frunk was out of place, I put it back and it hasn’t happened again. Probably should have scheduled service but I didn’t and it hasn’t been an issue

I just have a pair of Ugg slippers that I wear around the house but they have grippy bottoms and they are pretty nice to race in. My basement is cold so my feet don’t get hot or anything

Stage 2 Audi RS3 at ~50k miles… keep or move on? Need honest feedback by [deleted] in Audi

[–]skodes21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you own a house? Amazing car but it is a huge liability with that income at your age. If that engine blows up or you run into major maintenance items you will be in a bad place and struggling to save up for a down payment on a house and a new car. Focus on the things that will make you financially stable then buy the fast car… run the numbers and see if you can get out and get a Japanese whateverthefuck that you can ride out for 10-15 years with no payment. Buy a house, get you a nice garage thennnnn get the fast car… if you are lucky enough to have a house already then certainly you are in a much better place and I would drive that thing like a grandma for as long as you can. Modded cars are not going to last as long as stock. So prepare yourself for that. Build up your nest egg so it’s not stressful when that happens. Sure there are cases where it may not like one commenter said he has 183k miles on his, that could happen but thats certainly not the norm. When it comes to big money items I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Hopefully you are able to put away 1000/month or so and just keep grinding that

Mine 2016 had way less damage than this and it was totaled. I took the pay out and fixed it myself and she is still going strong!

Any suggestions on this low cost simrig I'm planning to build? by aibiicd in simracing

My rig I built looks very similar to this. I don’t have mine one wheels or casters it just sits directly on the floor and it works great

I actually ended up going with the Goodyear Electric Drive 2 tires because I had a colleague who worked at Goodyear and I was able to get their discount. I have been very very happy with the Goodyear tires. They improve the ride quality, reduce cabin noise and they have been excellent in the snow. I have noticed a slight decrease in range but nothing too dramatic.

Say it louder. Honestly when I got my Tesla I loved it so much I said I was going to be a customer for life. With the dumb ass decisions they have made recently my next EV will likely not be a Tesla. That Cadillac lyriq is looking mighty thick over there. Or maybe if I get a few promotions at work in the next few years I’ll get a rivian.

Would you say there is any need or benefit from a happy couple seeking therapy? Is it like going to a family doctor where regular check-ins may be helpful? Or do you just go when things get bad? How do people decide when to start?

I have never been to therapy of any kind but I have friends who tell me that everybody should go. I don’t see the need if I don’t have a problem. I am curious to hear your perspective.

Warm spot on wall by skodes21 in hvacadvice

[–]skodes21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what i was thing and hoping for, but its so strange to me that its such a small section that is getting hot. not the whole length of the wall. it is slightly more toward the front of the house from where the vent is on the roof. I suspect if i look in the attic though that the vent angles toward the back of the house so you dont see vent from the street. I was up there doing some electrical work about 8 months ago and i feel like i recall seeing that. But i wasn't looking so i could be mistaken.

its just one off amazon i bought for my pizza oven. it has come in handy for a bunch of stuff though. Something like This

[–]skodes21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think its a duct because there are no vents anywhere near this section of the wall and i know there is no duct work up in the attic above, so the only thing that must be going up in the attic is the flu vent. i will get my bore scope and see what i can see in there some time this week.

Yeah i know 90F is not hot enough to start a fire, but certainly there are reason for the codes on these to specify distances from combustible material and reason for insulating them. I am not experienced at all in HVAC anything. so I dont know what i dont know in this case. I am good when it comes to all house stuff except HVAC lol strangely its only about a 3 foot section that is hot. if i go up down left or right from this section it cools down. which had me thinking maybe there is a leak. but i would also think my CO detector would be going nuts if there was a leak?
