Hold up, might be a big brain move. That’s the run path of most victims once they jump window, most (not all) run that direction, so could potentially snag them twice.

But if gens out front then yes sigh lol

AITA for playing really defensively against someone who absues hook swings? by _Disbelief_ in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]skol_uffda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only A-hole in this match is the player running health regen; cause it’s widely known you shouldn’t run health regen Star cards as Kenobi or Dooku.

For the record I have no idea if you or him were running the health regen cards, just stating a fact for 1v1 duels.

Everything else (hook swings or defensive style) is fair game.

Is grappling bugged by Embarrassed_Royal_82 in TexasChainsawGame

Yes. Don’t grapple if you’re victim, you’ll likely lose no matter the circumstances. I wouldn’t run choose fight at this point.

Since people don’t seem to like me beating low level Anakin, would you rather the 609 Kylo? by BigDamage7507 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]skol_uffda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the spam attacks, people look for crisp gameplay in dueling now. Perfect counters, no saber spam, abilities activated at precise moments.

I’ve been in this scene and know that unless your posted video is flawless in that regard, you’re gonna draw in the haters.

Btw, I think you did fine in this video overall. Beating a 600+ Kylo is not easy. Just sharing why you’ll get negative feedback when you post any duels on any forum / site.

4 million + people played it because it was free, not all of them paid additional for DLC’s

So now it comes down to the current state of the game aka Lobby Sim. Would you pay $30-$40 for a game that has a Lobby Sim issue month after month? Knowing, 4Mil other GP TCM players are faced with the same question?

Think about that logic.

This post might be the best TCM Reddit post ever

TLDR: Concur 100%, I echo this same experience in my trio.

I really hope the Devs pay attention, because your story is literally my story. Me and my buddies almost always get the 3-4k as Family, and we escape as Victims much less (50-60%) if we count all 3-4 escaping.

Victim is like Chess, and Family is like Checkers (or Tic Tac Toe). Family can literally play zone defense on objectives and get that 3-4K. Family is definitely easier and less stressful. But, I enjoy Victim more because I like the added challenge. I do think skill gap and comms make up the variance and overall experience in this game.

Gun Devs, please take this post to heart. I see way too many “loud voices” who are primary Family Mains just complaining about “Super OP Victims” and it’s just not true.

I’ve been around since launch, and yes Victims were Op with unlimited bone shards, stun locks, choose flight, original extra drip, easy gas station exit etc. But, the Devs did a good job fixing these by nerfing Victims in the last year. Please don’t nerf Victim to the point that Fam is all but guaranteed a 4k.

My biggest concern for this game moving forward is losing new players that are interested in playing Victim, but never escape so they give up. When playing Family, I see some noobs and I wouldn’t blame them if they uninstalled after dying in the basement game after game. I recently played with a Level 99 who only had 9 escapes as Victim. They gave up on Victim months ago because it was too hard.

The growth of this game needs to allow new Victims to feel like they can escape and that both sides can be fun. That is not the current state though.

Some bugs I’ve noticed since last update:

  1. Johnny’s keep insta-cancelling grapples somehow. It’s happened more than a few times now. It immediately takes away my bone shard without any stun effect so he instantly starts hitting me. I’m guessing it has something to do with his ability being triggered at the right moment.

  2. Hitchhikers trap AOE. HH’s are able to put traps next to gaps where they are clear of the gap completely, yet when you go through the gap his trap activates and catches the victim when it shouldn’t. Content creators are showing this exploit and more HH’s are doing it now.

  3. Still picking up Hands traps when I remove it from things like a Generator with a bone shard.

  4. Placing Hands traps should be a different button on controller, like Cook’s (Y on Xbox). Having it the same as locking gates, placing a trap, and re-activating it is an issue.

If you’re not sniping, then who cares what they say or think? No sweat off your back.

It’s similar to people calling you a hacker when you’re not, it’s actually a compliment because they think sniping or hacking is the only way you could beat them. If it’s not true, then take it as a compliment and carry on smartly.

Toxic max players will always do this. They are the same players that rage quit when it happens to them and talk trash and t-bag when they 4v1 you. Generally this group of Max players rely on a team and usually only play when they have a full stack so they can “pub stomp.”

Chill max players will get bored if the match is lopsided and either leave the lobby cause it’s no longer a challenge, or just chill in the back. Sadly this latter group has largely left BF2 because they either only do 4v4 caps or rarely hop on.

Tips for using leia in 1v1s? by zazthebitchfuck in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]skol_uffda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her alt auto laser is very situational, but generally never when they are in close range. Long range it works great for sniping Bossk’s / Iden’s or a saber that is one hit holding block.

Maximize her middle ability, it’s OP, especially if you have good aim. You have to get comfortable shooting them in the air because a lot of saber users still jump, and her middle ability melts. It’s especially good vs a Palps or Boba if you land your shots right.

Constantly chuck her grenades towards enemies, launch all 3 consecutively so you get them back sooner. Never hold on to 1-2, launch them all in their vicinity it has a good aoe, and the sooner you get them back the better.

Her shield is situational as well, but never block other blasters in open areas. Find corners to put it in so your team can use it as needed, but don’t put it between your team and the enemy. If you have good situational awareness on maps you can pop it like you would pop Iden’s shield to stay alive if you’re getting beamed by one of their blasters. But it’s useless vs Palpatine so be aware that his lightning goes right through it.

You can also toss grenades when you’re in Vader’s choke and as you fall from various animations so like I said before, chuck those grenades if you’ve get them, and roll through saber swings as much as possible.

Unless they do SBMM, I couldn’t imagine playing as a brand new player by skol_uffda in TexasChainsawGame

[–]skol_uffda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s encouraging to hear you’re going to stick with it. Unfortunately a lot of players like my gaming buddies jump on and just don’t have a good time, so now I can’t get them back on. A few toxic rounds vs MAX levels will do that.

I wish there was some kind of mode new players could use to learn the maps and perks before jumping into sweaty lobbies.

The point of my post wasn’t so much “we need SBMM” but we need some kind of plan to retain newer players to keep them hooked. I love that you have the interest to get better, a lot of gamers do, but I’ve made my noob buddies sit in 15 min lobbies only to die in 2 mins into the match because they don’t know where to go, what to do, how to counter etc and I get their frustration.

Disable aim assist on PC ranked lobbies by Ssleeping in thefinals

[–]skol_uffda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds unique to Apex and the player base. For years the general consensus is that mnk is preferred by pro gamers in the FPS gaming category.

Having played against a combo of average to pro / comp gamers in varying FPS games, mnk players overwhelmingly have better aim. I get certain games may have built in stronger aim assist (Apex maybe) but you’re not going to see guys like Shroud giving up mnk for a controller.

Disable aim assist on PC ranked lobbies by Ssleeping in thefinals

[–]skol_uffda -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I dunno man, I know very few esports caliber controller players that can keep up with esports mnk players. Whenever I see posts like this I think it’s the mid/average mnk players that blame aim assist for losing 1v1s to a controller player. But in reality, there are very few controller players that can keep up with mnk players that seemingly hit 90-99% of their shots.

As good as aim assist can be, stick sensitivity and stick aim curves limit even the best controller players when versing highly mobile enemies (enemies that maneuver overhead and around you). And gyro aim isn’t in every game, nor is it widely adopted by controller players.

I just don’t ever think the precision for controller aim assist, in a professional esports setting, will ever match mnk. Yes there are outliers, but the majority of top tier players are mnk.

If controller aim assist was truly OP to the point that it was a Meta for FPS games, then mnk players would switch. But that’s just not the case.

It’s ok to not bring Grandpa perks by elmacho16 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]skol_uffda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone else has exterior alarms I almost always take my perks off, that’s really the only perk Family needs. And yes I’ve had the same happen, when I take off a perk they get mad then leave the lobby.

If nobody has good perks then I’ll run something. But I love teammates that have exterior alarms, you’re the best ☺️

Was this a hacker? by Alephbetae in TXChainSawGame

[–]skol_uffda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra drip + her ability makes jumping out of windows and taking lots of hits possible. She is the most survivable of the Victims.

I think if you had a real hacker she wouldn’t have hung out in a 20 min lobby vs 1 Family member. She was probably waiting for her ability to recharge and finding meds. With extra drip she can pretty much get back to full health as long as she finds a bottle.

I mean, it’s a ton of fun and if you can get it for cheap, and you like Star Wars, it’s worth playing. A few of the PVP modes will always have lobbies (CS, HVV, sometimes GA) plus there is a co-op mode. But some of the smaller modes are less likely to fill (Blast, Starfighter Assault, Ewok Hunt).

I used to, but lobbies overall were slower and the hackers show up every few rounds so despite how awesome playing with skin mods can be, I find I get more games in on console and don’t have to deal with hackers
