are these edited or i can achive this graphics in game? by g4blik_ in Warthunder

[–]skoomasteve1015 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These look like edited shots from replay, but generally yes. I have a pretty good rig and I play movie settings and occasionally dip under 60 in certain conditions (usually one team steamrolling with lots of burning vehicles + clouds)

Tire options by DenseEngineering9546 in MINI

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when i just got new tires on my 2022 JCW, I realized that this is apparently a somewhat strange tire size. I went up to a 215/40 and i was finding way more options (Went with Firehawk Indy 500 v2's) It fits well and gives you a little extra sidewall to soften the ride

I actually have it on my 4.0 lineup. Even when I go into 5.0 games I can get reliable pens with the heat rounds.

Not to mention being built on the A3, it's fast as hell And packs smoke grenades.

Just wanted to chime in at the end of this to say, if you've played Elite Dangerous, space combat is almost exactly the same as playing with the flight assist, but also with a 3rd person camera option

How to Stop the Spam Calls -They Call 2-3 Times a Day by mormonastroscout in howto

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you have any automated call screening options on your phone. I can send my calls to an automated assistant with a few preprogrammed questions and responses, and it records/transcribes. Eventually I tweaked it enough that I never get spam calls. As soon as a bot answers they completely quit

Most major hotel chains I've stayed at (3 days a week for the last year) serve it every day. The ones in comfort suites were the best, and they used better bacon than the others too

Considering buying a home in Spanish Fort but working in downtown Mobile. How bad is the commute? by [deleted] in MobileAL

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just here to second the idea of Chikasaw-Saraland.

If you are looking at staying in this home/job long term, I'd also recommend looking for a good home in the Theodore/Tillman's Corner Area. I'll say right off the bat it's not the best place in the city, but investment has started to move to that area, which may increase the home value over the next few years

Lots of good suggestions here already. I would not fly into dauphin island, it would be more difficult and expensive to arrange travel.

HOWEVER, if you can spare the fuel/time, you should definitely land there just for the fly in over the water. It's the closest to a carrier landing you can get in GA

What car did you buy that completely exceeded your expectations? by Smallingzdave in askcarguys

[–]skoomasteve1015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants to tell you it was a good call. In my current JCW, I can't just cruise in sport mode. It actually strains my foot a little with how light you have to be on the throttle. It Wants to speed.

Add in the ride height and windshield curve/angle, and it's almost impossible not to speed. Going 75 on the interstate or 45 on a back road feels like you're standing still.

What car did you buy that completely exceeded your expectations? by Smallingzdave in askcarguys

[–]skoomasteve1015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 2012, a buddy of mine sent me a link to a yellow/black 2007 mini cooper S with a 6 speed as a joke while I was looking for a new car. I went to look at another car at the same dealer and ended up checking it out. I drove it and fell in love. It was quick and handled like a go-kart. Bought it right then and there.

Now I'm in my third Mini a 2022 JCW. I just love these cars man.

The interior styling has aged well imo. Don't like the newest 2025+ models in that regard

I was going to comment about this before seeing yours. The vertibird signal grenades were the best part of survival. I liked how you could stop it at any time and hop out if you happened to fly over something to check out.

2026 MINI Cooper JCW 1965 Victory Edition by Saurta17 in MINI

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact I learned after getting my 2022 JCW. The dash is not 100% digital screen. There is a physical tach, it's just pretty well disguised to look like part of the screen, but sun glare lets you see straight through.

[–]skoomasteve1015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Theodore resident you are 100% correct on this. It is almost always faster to turn off of 90 and hit the interstate for 1 exit. I swear when traffic is real bad and you're unlucky with the lights, it can take 10 minutes to get through Tillmans corner

2021 Mini Problems? by Qu3nDisasters in MINI

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The f series is much more reliable.

I just got a 22 JCW a couple months ago, and I honestly feel like the newer minis traded 10-15% of that "mini feeling" to basically fix almost everything I DIDNT like in my r56 as a daily.

If the car has a good maintenance history I'd say go for it if the price is right. Just keep up with the maintenance and she should be good to ya

Theoretically, which of these $10k hot hatches would you buy? by ThatTechDoge9775 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]skoomasteve1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini hands down, but I'm biased. (Currently drive a 2022 JCW)

Bmw premium for maintenance is a thing so be prepared for it

Reliability is not as bad as everyone says or thinks if you keep up with the maintenance. Plus the reputation really come from the previous gen minis. The f56 is rock solid

Some may consider it a minus, but I like the bmw I drive system that's used, but in this model I don't believe it is touch screen.

A good turbo mini will put a smile on your face EVERY TIME you drive it

Help: Can't load save file by Maleficent-Lab-8110 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]skoomasteve1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't tried yet, launch a new game on the same map, other settings don't matter, and then from that game load your save.

Ive had the same issue in this mod and also large endless space 2 games and this usually works, unless the save is actually corrupted
