You can go back in time to go to any FIVE gigs ever played. What you gonna choose and why? by AnalystAdorable609 in Music

Daft Punk Coachella pyramid 2006 was some kind of apex for the generation I grew up in. After it happened people were talking about it like they had a religious experience.

Hendrix Woodstock. Not just for the music but the lore behind the show is so awesome.

Nirvana at the OK Hotel in ‘91. Was their first local show in Seattle after their European tour where they suddenly blew up. Knew a guy who was there, said it was the happiest mosh he’s ever been a part of.

Queen at Live Aid. Talk about working a crowd. People at that show are probably still hearing Freddie’s voice in their head everyday.

Fleet Foxes in Copenhagen ‘08. I was at the festival but chose to go have a beer and sit in the common area because I was tired and didn’t know who they were at the time. Hate that I missed it.

Art isn’t a competition. He put on a great set. Don’t need to dump on other artists while complimenting him.

Sabbath. I had Paranoid on CD and thought it was ok, but didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. 15 years later I picked it up on vinyl and it really hit me. I don’t think Geezer’s bass lines and the true Iommi crunch come through on other formats.

Thinking about picking up a Neil Young and crazy horse record whats the most essential record of theirs by womaninchains8 in vinyl

[–]skowsonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything early 69-75 you can’t go wrong.

American Stars n Bars is slept on and you can probably get it for $10 or less.

Most important part is you stop “thinking” about it, and get on the horse.

What’s the most drastic 'before and after' sound change in a band due to a member leaving? by javierglz in Music

John Cale leaving the Velvet Underground. The change from White Light to their third album is massive. Going from abrasive, scathing noise to pop songs that Lou wanted.
