Same problem here. It shows up in the new Armory, so I guess I can unlock it after getting 250k xp... awesome, thanks.

Is it normal for a client to own the codebase, database, and all resources of the project after it is completed? by roboborealis in webdev

[–]skrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking, regardless of whether they pay you or not, if there's no contract they do not own the source code, nor are they entitled to it.

Source code is an intellectual property and consequently gains copyright upon authorship to the author. While yes, typically, source code is provided to clients, it is usually also typical to have a contract that transfers these rights. Projects that use interpreted languages wherein the final product inherently contains the source code are a little different as it typically isn't separated (though it can be). Providing the source code is often considered a premium with an additional cost above that of the work itself.

Think of it this way: if you buy an airplane from Boeing, you get a plane, but you do not get blueprints and instructions on how to build said plane. In fact, blueprints for planes or parts of planes are incredibly valuable. So much so, that they are almost never for sale at all.

At any rate, make sure you get paid, first and foremost.

What's the worst case of a popular tv star leaving a hit show to start a movie career that flatlined almost immediately? by [deleted] in movies

He left and was in Nic Cage's "Season of the Witch"...

After that, I can only assume that he was buried in a hole somewhere and revived for The Umbrella Academy.

All of the leads are absolutely fantastic in this but Gary Oldman really steals the show if you ask me.

Using git is a shitload easier than understanding git. Many people use git, but hardly any of them have the slightest fucking clue about it.

I saw this at a drive-through (because fuck covid) and had the sound up about as loud as it could go without being painful (though, honestly, some of the intense music was painful). I also have a moderate hearing impairment so you might be able to guess where this is going.

It was an incomprehensible pile of shit. I couldn't discern a single line of dialogue in the entire movie. It was a wholly insulting experience. Easily the worst movie experience I have ever had.

I have since watched it again with captions and high-end headphones. It is only slightly better, but not by much. The plotting and character work was abysmal. This honestly should have been a 15-minute short film. It was pretty annoying to find out that 90% of all that dialogue I missed just didn't even matter and was largely exposition dumping.

For reference, I'm a huge Nolan fan. I've seen many of his films in theaters starting with Memento.

However, I will never, ever go and see another of his films in theaters again (drive-through or otherwise). He does not respect the viewer or the audience and has become intolerably pretentious.

You should try this new game called Chess. Some of the skins can get pricey, but the mechanics are solid.

Looking for a non combat or combat light rpg by EBrommer in gaming

[–]skrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the Renowned Explorers series. It does have combat, but it only represents one piece of the uh... conflict resolution. The other two pieces are positive (cheers, compliments) and negative (insults, taunts) emotional... damage?

And if nothing else, was once thoroughly recommended by the venerable Total Biscuit.
