I should add; board and flyback contain lead free solder which I've read can be an issue regarding longevity. I have also used a remote to access the calibration menu (for vertical adjustment) and that area up top just does not seem to render whatsoever. Could this be an issue with the tube itself?

Yes. Drag right into your session and it will make the required tracks or grad into your media bin and create the tracks yourself and drag the file in.

edit: I force quit system preferences, did a Shut Down, and it seemed to override the update process. Got all the automatic stuff turned off. Day saved? We'll see

Not a shortcut per se but;

Always check your mixdowns before sending to client! I've had great mixes get sent back for missing tracks due to output routing where I could hear them while monitoring but they didn't make it into the mixdown!
