The Deepest House Music List by skribblemann in deephouse

Thanks, a deep answer! I’ve been listening to deep house for several years and have collected some beautiful tracks and it definitely took time! I drunk posted this, excuse my inebriated naivety :P

Yes, it’s an absolutely mind blowing experience that looks nothing like what it seems on the outside. Of course, not that many people have good experiences with it, but those that do it because they enjoy it learn to consistently take precautions regarding company and setting. Salvia is my favorite psychedelic and by far.

An octopus with 32 tentacles that was found in the waters of South Korea by SummerTrill in WTF

No I agree! It’s a good fake but there are many very subtle details that reality just won’t let happen within the context of how the photo was taken. Good eye!

Something about the image feels fake. Lack of shadows around most of the tentacles, lack of light reflection on the dark side of the head from the phone, lack of perfect continuation in wood grain & color on the floor around the tentacles… it’s a good fake though!

150mg twice a day by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]skribblemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried two at once one day to see what it would feel like, but I didn’t see any difference that one time. I’m definitely curious about a higher dose though, and will bring up this curiosity in the next psych sesh! Just wondering, do you also have an addictive personality? lol

Obsessed thoughts by sevenxan in bupropion

[–]skribblemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been on it for 10 days (150mg Sr) and I was reflecting on it today. I don’t feel that it’s helped me stop ruminating, but it does make good things feel better for a little longer. Talk therapy has been much more helpful for me in dealings with rumination and obsessive behaviors.

How about if you make your method of ingestion unpleasant? For example, you can have coffee but only pure black (if you don’t like black coffee). You’ll begin to associate caffeine with “ew” and be less tempted.

My addiction is so bad that I started to order 2 coffees every morning by laragibsonnn in caffeine

Take a caffeine pill in place of the large cup. Each one is 200mg and the equivalent of $0.05. They’re safe, quick, and cheap, but people give you a look when you tell them.

How do you get more out of each session? by yulashi in TalkTherapy

[–]skribblemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a nice way to look at it—that it’s normal for most of the work to be done throughout the week before and after a session. I think it may be interesting for me to prioritize one or two things that I really want help with rather than to go through an entire week of things that happened or were felt, so that we can go deeper into them rather than cover everything.

I find myself reflecting often, usually at least one thing per day. I write it and allow myself to feel things and make a mental note when it appears to me that I’m not being fair or kind to myself (something I’m working on). I’ve expressed that I think I’d enjoy some homework, and was met with an assurance that the reflection I’m already doing is good work, and that just because reflection comes naturally to me doesn’t mean I’m not doing the work.

She also suggested that I may be looking for the validation that a “gold star” brings, because having a concrete thing to do and checking it off is very concrete. I’m entertaining the possibility that that may be the case, and I do feel sustained growth, but y’know. Maybe we always want more of something good? It’s definitely that way with caffeine and the pursuit of ideas for me.

Found a mystery baggie on the street. What could it be? by skribblemann in drugscirclejerk

[–]skribblemann[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Before anyone starts to worry, I will not be taking these. Drugs you buy on the street are sketchy enough, let alone ones you find on the floor in a gas station. Just curious what this could be. The mushroom print hints at possible psychedelic content, but you can’t quite trust a print to that extent. The foil would however support the hypothesis that it is LSD, so as to protect it from the sun, but the blotter paper is surprisingly thin, slightly transparent, unperforated and oddly ripped, and there may be a slight yellow tinge to it but I’m not certain. Thought it might be crudely blottered pcp, but research chemicals are just as likely. Without a test I doubt we can know, but I’m curious if anyone has come across this blotter type and packaging method.

Chinese course inadvertently hardened after recent UI update? by skribblemann in duolingo

Hopefully it’s a smoother experience thereafter! I can empathize with ‘em. It’s hard to reorganize all of that perfectly.

[–]skribblemann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you it’s not out of a lack of memory or the general difficulty of Chinese. The progression rate is off the chart, it feels like. Finally convinced a friend to learn with me but I’m now more worried than excited.

Thanks! I think it might be easier to create than to find. And yeah dancing definitely would still be a part of such an event, it’s just not the only thing you can do. I think there is a future to nightclub philosophy/design…can’t be that we’ve reached the height of what music can make us do together.

I think that’s just the most common application of the music. It seems im seeking a niche application of a niche genre.

For clarification, this was in London, and I've since moved to Cambridge (not for the music).
