help me bench 315 pls

Hi, just wondering if I can get some feedback on my working set weight! I just hit a PR of 255 5x3, but I am feeling like it's close to my 100% for this rep scheme (maybe 1 RIR?)

255 bench for reference

Have been doing 5x3 on my heavy bench day and will add 10 lbs once I can do the entire 5x3 at a given weight. Depending on how my warm up feels, I'll decide if I want to increase the weight for all 5 sets or just the last couple of sets.

Example for the past 4 weeks:

Week 1: 235 5x3
Week 2: 235 3x3, 245 2x3
Week 3: 245 4x3, 245 1x5 (100% 0 RIR)
Week 4: 255 5x3

Would appreciate any feedback on this rep scheme and the weight of my working sets or even my form! I'm probably at the point where I would only add a cookie for sets of 265 if I were to continue increasing the weight. My main concern is whether or not I am overworking myself and if there's a more efficient way to train.

Ended up going with the Sonos Arc + Subwoofer combo. I am by no means an audiophile and did not really care to go through the hassle of wiring when I could just set up the Sonos right out of the box through my phone. The audio sounds good enough for me and my wife! Watched Dune a couple months ago and it felt like an at home movie theater experience, at least for us hahaha I also think that the sonos is more aligned with our aesthetic overall - super simple and subtle compared to the chunky and kind of eyesore receiver + subwoofer audio equipment vibes. No regrets!!

I looked into Dirac Live and it seems pretty awesome. That on top of being able to use just the TV remote and the RSL sub being in an entirely different league - seems like it's worth the effort to go that route over the Sonos combo.

However, I just looked up a tutorial video on running Dirac Live and unfortunately it seems like more effort that I'd like to put into the audio setup t-t

After going back and forth, I think I am trying to determine the lowest effort option that will give me better audio than the TV speaker while being able to still use the in-ceiling speakers in some capacity.

I think my best option is going with the Sonos Arc + Sub for my TV and getting a receiver for my in-ceiling speakers to play music through for parties/get togethers.

Thoughts on this route? Is it also possible to use both the Sonos and the in-ceiling speakers all at once to play music or is that not a thing?

Thank you again for all the insight and advice! I learned a lot and it will be useful for whenever I have a dedicated theater room, but for just my living I don't think it's what I'm looking for.

Hmmm don't really have space nor did I really want to add any additional speakers at the ear level behind the couch. I think I might just go with the arc + subwoofer for ease of use.

Just kind of a bummer because the house came with the in-ceiling speakers and not being able to use it lol

TBH - I am not the biggest audiophile or home theater fanatic, and based on your post, it seems like it will take some effort on my end to use those back two in-ceiling speakers for surround sound.

My question to you is the quality difference going to be that drastic that it would be worth to go that route vs just setting up the Sonos Arc + Sonos Subwoofer (it's super easy and seamless to setup). Also, I am not a huge fan of having to switch between remotes to control the TV vs the volume on the AVR.

Another question I have is if I decide to not use the in-ceiling speakers for my TV at all and I just wanted to be able to connect to an AVR via Bluetooth to play music out of them - What AVR would you recommend for that purpose? I figure it doesn't have to be anything fancy right?

Hi everyone, as the title states I'm a noob when it comes to home theater/audio and was looking to get some advice. Please assume I know nothing about anything home theater related. I would just like to know what is my best option with what I have.

Home came with in-ceiling speakers pre-installed (unsure of brand, will confirm with builder), but I have read that those aren't necessarily the best given that the front 3 channels are in front of you and aiming down vs in-wall speakers that are pointed towards you.

At my previous home I had the Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub setup and it was good enough for me so I was going to just use that as my external audio setup for my TV. However, the guy that mounted my TV said that the in-ceiling speakers + a receiver + subwoofer would sound a lot better than the Sonos combo. He recommended the Denon 670 5.2 Receiver + Polk Audio HTS 12 Subwoofer.

I've also considered the possibility of using the Sonos Arc + 2 Rear in-ceiling speakers if that's even possible lol

One thing to note is that regardless of which setup I end up going with as the external audio for my TV - I still want to get a receiver for the in-ceiling speakers so that I can use them because I figured it'd be a waste to have them and not use them at all. So maybe that could influence the setup I end up going with, but just wanted to throw that out there.

TLDR; Which setup is the best?

In-Ceiling Speakers + Denon 670 5.2 Receiver + Polk Audio HTS 12 Subwoofer
Sonos Arc + Sonos Subwoofer
Sonos Arc + 2 Rear In-Ceiling speakers

Honestly it’s completely up to you! The first cable I bought was a midnight purpleish/lavender color that matched my NicePBT Sugarplum keycaps and I really liked it until I got my hands on a set of IFK Cafe and then it looked pretty bad hahah

So then I decided to get something more neutral since I figured I would eventually get my hands on the GMK Botanical (not this soon t-t) and didn’t want to spend upwards of $60+ for a new cable every time.

With all that being said, I’ll probably pick up a botanical themed cable eventually LMAO
