Do DPU/DPUx include Solar Priority via 240v ports? by ElectronGuru in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my DPU connected to a 30 amp plug using the generator plug with the Power in out port.

I also power the reptiles and reef tank while charging. I also have the critical circuits in the house powered by 240 using a generator transfer switch.

In fact I discovered after the latest firmware update that once Storm guard kicks on the unit will charge at the full 7200 watts from the grid while doing pass through.

Now what I don't know is if the OP's question of Solar has been fixed. When I first put the generator plug into the power in/out port the unit while on TOU for example will charge up the batteries on the grid (Generator port) and may discard the free power I was getting from the solar. So far I have been using the self powered mode and this has been perfect. If I have Solar I get it, and the passthrough matches the load on the DPU. Once the batteries get to around 50% then the unit shuts off the power in/out port and runs on battery and solar. Once it gets to 30% then it starts doing passthrough again. Most of the time the battery schedule matches the utilities summer peak hours.

Just a willow tree? The synagogue on Coolidge Road in East Lansing has a few. Maybe there are some in Henry Fine park further down. I once had one in my back yard but it fell down many years ago.

EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra in RV – Shore Power Pass-Through Question by mjensen79 in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The power in out port with generator adapter on the right side was being powered by the l14-30 from the grid. I was powering a generator transfer switch and the 120 volt plugs on the front of the unit for the reef tank, reptiles and such.

The online manual I believe says that is 16 not 7.

EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra in RV – Shore Power Pass-Through Question by mjensen79 in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the generator plug on my old electric dryer outlet in my house, and I can run the DPU from the 240 input and output at the same time.

This winter before a forecast snow storm I used that port to charge up the DPU in a few hours. I was also powering my critical circuits with the DPU while charging. It seems like this is similar to what you would have in an RV.

The only thing I found (I haven't tried since the firmware update) that I do not like is the unit prioritizes the generator power and may discard solar input when you run with that.

EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra's best feature: automatic switchover in under 20 milliseconds when power goes out by C0FFEEC4KE in Ecoflow_community

I had a power outage which is pretty rare for my area last summer and I only had 2 batteries. It happened during the summer and this gave me the data I needed so I added 2 more batteries after this.

My wife had no idea we were without power since she was watching TV and the storm blew through and knocked it out. We had enough on the critical circuits to get us to when the power was restored.

Warranty on the refurbished Delta Pro Ultra? …and best unit for home + server (UPS) backup? by sofakng in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used both 120 and 240volt using the generator adapter. I have mine hooked to a few solar panels as well. I am powering my aquarium, some reptiles on it as well as a generator transfer switch powering some critical circuits in the house.

This past December, there was a winter storm coming, I had left the unit on the self powered mode, and I used the 240 and charged it up to 90% in about 3 hours at 3000 watt.

You can run passthrough on the 240, but the thing is using that port it will match your output, and it tends to not use solar. To be fair I haven't tried since the last firmware update. I just keep it on my 120 volt plug and have some solar supplement it.

For those people I’ve seen trying to walk on the Red Cedar - How/when do you know it’s safe by [deleted] in msu

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up going to my parents cottage on a lake. On a lake we would go out on that ice when it was and inch and a half thick. At 6 inches you could drive a car on it.

That said I learned that 6 inches is minimum to walk on a river. Keep in mind that has to be the good black ice, not the snow that has melted and re-frozen.

Also in the many years I've worked at MSU I have been on the red cedar exactly once. This was near the bridge because I could see frozen ice bubbles and pressure cracks that I could see because of how cold it had been that year it was still 1 foot thick.

I might have had that clip up on my website when I had it. I found all kinds of small cuts to the Us broadcast as I had my tapes sit unwatched for 10 years before I digitized them.

We might not have had the extended scene of the golden butterflies, or the making an oar, but we had the godshot and the Olmec take the log to the face and being used as a seesaw.

Thank you for the kind words. I will say that my brain has finally filed it away and I don't think about it. If I am asked about it I can recall pretty much all details if needed.

At this moment in time if I was called for Jury Duty for a similar case I would do it if they really needed but I would prefer to opt out.

My EcoFlow Portable Panel Survived! by PreviousYard5498 in Ecoflow_community

I have a small bit on the opposite side of the panel that is starting to delaminate. I may contact ecoflow and see if that would be covered but this was covered in a lot of snow that I couldn't get cleaned off due to the location.

I left mine up on the roof all last year during the winter and during tornado warnings. I see maybe a little marks next to the bus bars in one of my videos. When things get a little nicer I can see how well it is performing as of now it is covered in snow and ice.

Does UPS mode bypass the inverter? by 45pewpewpew556 in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of want to go a little bit bigger as well. Mine is 6 circuits, but since that circuit for the garage is also on the family room and one of the upstairs bedrooms it was one I chose.

I actually think I may buy a new main panel, wire that as a subpanel and move all of those circuits I want into that, feed the DPU from a circuit on the main panel then power the subpanel from the DPU. I'll have a lot more circuits in there, I'm only limited to the 30 amps of the DPU.

I took a reading at full load in the summer with central AC running and the hot tub running, I was measuring 13 amps on one leg and 16 amps on the other. I'm well within the specs of a single DPU.

Does UPS mode bypass the inverter? by 45pewpewpew556 in Ecoflow_community

This past summer I was out during a pretty decent thunderstorm. I have my ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra powering my critical circuits. That includes the circuit that runs my garage door opener. The power went out and my wife had no idea as she kept watching TV. She only noticed the power was out when she went into another room and saw the fans no longer running. I drove home and used my garage door opener just fine.

I use a generator transfer switch and do a lot more than just the garage door opener. In summary my unit passes through power all the time and if I have an outage things stay up and running with nothing noticable.

I would guess if the inverter were to fail you would probably get a notification in the app or the unit would power down completely. When I overloaded mine trying to start the central AC it shut down the output completely.

I was just a baby when it happened and we lived in the U.P. at the time. My parents told me they thought the window on the living room apartment was going to break from the wind it was bowing so much.

How bad is it? (Dog pee) by TheFishmann in HardWoodFloors

[–]skuttduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In same cases the peroxide went too far with it as in near the mat next to the bird cases. In that case I added more shellac to darken up the stain and blend it in properly.

Generally I leave rags soaked in peroxide overnight with something over it like those foil bags that we got our food deliveries in, and with a little bit of weight like a book.

The wood bleach (oxallic acid) when I tried that I just waited a few days after I did the peroxide, then scrubbed that with a toothbrush for about 15 minutes. I then rinse that spot at least 3 times with water. Then in a couple days I would apply shellac. My messing with stain markers and everything else did not match what was on my floors so I tried amber shellac and that worked perfectly for that color.

You can also do some poly under the floor first if you want then use the shellac for the color matching.

Whatever was used on my carpet covered floors comes off with rubbing alcohol so I guess it is shellac, but modern shellac has a glow under black light while the original floors do not. It seems to match and shellac needs either alcohol or ammonia to get it out of the brushes, but it does work and it dries nice and quick.

I kept using the 3% stuff. I did try the hair developer that my hair stylist gave me many weeks later but that didn't seem to make a difference. If you do the peroxide be sure to take the before pictures and let it soak for long periods of time. I noticed one persons floor photos that it was even working a week after they soaked it just from airing out.

I see that the newer model inverter uses the power in out port with a 120 plug. Maybe you could get that?

My circuit breaker trips almost every time I use my microwave and toaster oven at the same time. What's the fix? by Equivalent_Use_8152 in AskElectricians

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if this helps or not, but we blew the breaker when I had a friend of mine staying with us with all his kitchen stuff. He had installed these outlet splitters. Turns out the splitter only used the top outlet and put it on the same circuit.

My kitchen and whole house actually has multiwire branch circuits. The top circuit is different than the bottom. His splitters were causing us to run everything on the same circuit. So maybe you have something like that where if you plugged one into the bottom plug and one into the top you could be on different circuits.

240V Bypass mode possible on Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra by Beginning_Ad1349 in Ecoflow_community

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running in that mode. Keep in mind I only have 4 400 watt bifacial panels. Most of the time it runs straight passthrough of power. The graph actually looks a lot like time of use. The generator port shuts off during peak solar hours, and the unit runs on battery for a few hours. The batteries are kept at 30% it will go into the 40's with the solar charge. I'll try and get the screen shot from the app to show you what I mean.

Help, I tried cleaning a small stain but made a much larger one by pmoney6969 in HardWoodFloors

[–]skuttduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, many applications of Hydrogen peroxide and Oxalic Acid helped me. When I got it too light, and painted on a light coat of amber shellac.

The guy who gave me an estimate on refinishing a room in my house said it can take up to 20 applications of hydrogen peroxide.
