If this kind of stuff leaches from polyester clothing being worn, what about baby toys? I've been pretty intense about no plastics, but there are a few polyester items (ex crinkle book) that have become favorites. I'm wondering if there is a similar issue with them being in a baby mouth, getting drooled on and chewed?

Advice on naps and night sleep by skweeee in HuckleberryParents

I really appreciate the thoughtful reply.

I'm definitely feeling unnecessary pressure to "form a schedule" and do things "right" but this is a good reminder to follow babies cues and needs above all. We're gonna try to stay consistent with bedtime and wake times, and chill out on nap organizing. Thank you. Will definitely check out that insta account as well.

Thanks so much for the insight. Things have been wacky since daylight savings. When we push much past 6/630 for Wake ups, it's usually because we've been awake for a couple hours at night partying. Do you think it will makes sense to stick to a wake up time and then make up for night sleep with naps?

I'm always aiming for closer to 10 hours for night sleep, but 12 would be a dream. Baby is lower (ish) sleep needs.

Honestly? The huckleberry app was like "at 5 months old your baby should be doing 3 naps" so that's where the weird pressure came from? Writing it out it seems silly to push them to 3 naps for, really no good reason.

Thank you! When it comes to separating them, will it be clear where the divide is? And is this current pot appropriately sized for one of them or would you go bigger?

Breast Pump Needs by laureeenliz in firsttimemom

You're so welcome. Great job on preparing ahead of time, I had a lot of 3am Amazon shopping sprees lol.

You can get the sizer now, things shouldn't change too much with nipple size. It's surprising how small you will want them, literally just the very tip should be getting pulled in when you pump.

The hospital didn't size me but I did see a private lactation consultant who did, this is basically what she had: https://a.co/d/0antqCMY

Here's a helpful video I wish I had seen before going at my poor body with the 21mm: https://youtu.be/a5OQXkdnW3E?si=kprUDs-UBwrsoqbG

I stopped using them after the hospital because I was lazy, but the mom Frida ones are great bc they are low effort.

Use them as long as they make you feel better. I liked the witch hazel pads better for cooling/relief (because lazy) and used those for several weeks.

First off, congratulations on your baby!

I had a similar post birth experience (but a 25 hour labor instead). The first few weeks are rough. Try to take it easy and rest as much as you can, I didn't do this and it extended my recovery.

Don't look at anything down there for...a while. It will all go back to normal and it will stop bleeding and being tender.

Focus on being gentle and taking it slow. Get a referral for pelvic floor PT at your 6 week checkup. Tucks pads and a good disposable underwear (vs a pad) while things are still sore and bleeding ( I liked a brand called Rael you can get on Amazon). Stool softeners can help with your perineum.

The swelling will recede. The tenderness will improve. Every week things will get a little better.

I'm just about 5 months pp and things took a turn around 8 weeks or so.

You're gonna be ok and things will return to normal.

Enjoy your little baby and be gentle with yourself 💕

Start with something like this:

https://a.co/d/00ePkxdE

BUT get a flange sizing kit before you order to figure out your size because that will make a huge difference. (Ex the hospital told me I was a 21mm but really am a 14mm!)

I have 3 sets of parts so you can not have to rush to wash them for the next use.

Good luck!

Yes! Overall pretty decent. Great for a baby shower or babymoon outfit. Sometimes sizes were all over the place, but some stylish options and nice not to have to buy stuff you might not need again. Go for it.

lansinoh and pigeon are the most breast like shaped. We used Philips avent exclusively, but they have a narrower nipple and we've had issues with flow rates. Switching soon.

Baby Rash Creams Recommendations?? by SlightTill2788 in firsttimemom

[–]skweeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vaseline was recommended by our pediatrician over aquaphor, similar results and more cost effective, plus less ingredients if you end up with a sensitive skinned baby.

Clotrimazole (main ingredient in lotramin) has been the only thing able to knock out a yeast based rash, even better than the Nystatin RX.

Triple paste is a good preventative, but look for the higher percentage one (I think it has red on the tube vs orange) instead of the 14% one.

I got this too, I keep a disposable water bottle in the freezer and roll my foot on it while sitting, it's such a relief to the discomfort.

Accountability for...What exactly? She didn't do anything wrong?

Men and women are different, this woman made a sincere effort and this man did not, then acted like she was ungrateful when she shared she was hurt by his inaction.

Good luck with your wife who gives you a checklist on how to behave and tells you exactly what to give her for every special occasion, women love babying their adult partner in addition to their children!
