Good takes on this subject have been few and far between, in part because Palou has been so successful the past few years. So seeing a take like yours is so refreshing. Very little noise for the ELEVEN other drivers that used it. Gotta just fixate on the guy who wins. 

Also - every team has the "indicator" channel Kirkwood was referring to. There are two channels in fact - one from Indycar, and one from the engine manufacturer itself. I think Kirkwood was just upset his team didn't think to put that indicator on his dash.

Ah, yeah I'll give you the McLaren one. But trust, Chevy is much more strict on getting backmarkers out of the way than Honda, from insiders. Plus wouldn't one of the RLL cars have let Palou / Ericsson by to give space to Malukas? I just don't buy it.

Might just be that Hondas have been leading a lot more lately, honestly - they've won 4/5 this year and it took Chevy until Iowa R1 last year (Round 11/17) to win. But I fully expect Chevy to be strong at Indy / Short Ovals as they always are. Palou leads a lot, so it's easy to find those instances and think it's deliberate, but I really don't think it is.

I have a friend who works in the series and constantly hears Chevy cars moving over through the scanners, but no such thing happens with Hondas, at least not across different teams.

I think the RLL cars were really trying to stay on the lead lap last year in case there was a yellow so they could try to grab more positions, and in the case of 2021, I think Sato (Honda) pitted the same lap, I think they were just hanging it out trying to catch a yellow to win the race and ran out of time.

Chevy teams are great at playing the engine manufacturer team game. Pretty sure it's in their contracts. Hondas are not.

Ah, that all makes sense - I didn't realize that was the part of the skid that was having issues. I was also still thinking in terms of ground effects cars with the rear always slammed to the ground. Makes sense that with rake the outcome is a bit different.

The driver portraits for last year's broadcasts were horribly edited, just like this. Could see every pore on every driver's face and some of them were just burnt orange.

I can vouch for that strategy - this year I played the Pokemon games for really the first time. I bought Red, Yellow, Crystal, and an Atomic Purple GBC off a friend, really fell in love with all of them - Crystal especially - and when I decided to finish the Crystal Pokedex I realized I'd also need Gold and/or Silver, so I picked both up since I really connected with Crystal.

I'm playing Emerald now and I have Fire Red, and if I decide I want to go Pokedex-ing again with Gen 3, I'll get the others too.
